Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
0 q/ m* Y) F' i5 o; h* [- m3 GWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members. ) w2 S3 I6 M$ _; }
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation. " f3 i" f9 T) t
Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments. 7 p9 T' q6 C; n4 z }
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it. 1 z( [: L [ m4 l. y
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans., |9 l; _5 c$ z$ U# _
Qualifications
/ h& V) @6 D0 {Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
o5 P" ?4 T8 p& n SMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance. * x' x, I% J8 `7 p3 r
Computer skills an asset. . g0 n9 ]/ j; {' o( _: c
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
