Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
2 b4 H$ T2 ]0 w" M) K! VMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
! [. \5 D, y# @2 QMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
. ]4 Y  U5 N; E( a6 ^Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
3 r1 ?4 |) X: t5 AMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
# j9 C6 V  K0 W( _2 H# FAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
9 O9 G+ ~  ?' Y: D$ BProficiency in a second language is an asset.
