Responsibilities
3 G) \3 u0 v: Q0 U4 @+ k$ NAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
; {3 t4 Q3 H! X; ^+ r( C8 LMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
( ^, c( x( N  [1 Q& f. hIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
/ c% l% ?3 q0 Y7 Q) @Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
. p9 Y, V; w- D: m4 tQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
4 _/ g6 _. l  s7 P* qMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
0 s# v2 H2 e4 B8 lComputer skills an asset.
  h1 s& a) x. L- D3 |% ?2 ^An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
