Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
  f& c8 r7 z5 B& \4 I9 b* ?Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
1 m% L; v- N% B5 hMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
# x7 F# R% W0 l+ `2 S4 W( o  V* P! @Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
: [% e1 u# r% hQualifications
, @( g  a/ d6 |  u+ \Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
9 s1 ]& `" ~  J/ NMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
, _. v! f# Q. ^3 f6 `( @& y2 e5 CComputer skills an asset.
" L" i: P+ F+ a/ t9 [+ Z7 e, t5 UAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
& \) ]% D5 e' G: A( @Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
