Safety Officer

Athabaskan Resource Company (Athabaskan) is a consulting firm providing engineering, surveying, project management, geomatics and mapping expertise from its base in the heart of the oil sands in Northeastern Alberta. Although a new company, Athabaskan has an impressive heritage resulting from its formation as a joint venture of the Fort McKay First Nation (FMFN) and Stewart Weir Group (SWG). Athabaskan is grounded in the belief that the First Nations are integral stakeholders in the development of natural resources.

, N+ n/ ?0 Z# g( }9 fWe have an exciting opportunity for a Safety Officer to work within our Fort McMurray office in order to respond to site incidents and client initiated audits.

Overview of Role:
3 B6 e7 S: j$ |As the Safety Officer, you will provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to employees on industry specific safety policies and procedures.  You will be required to conduct incident investigations and prepare relevant safety reports in an effective and timely manner.

2 ?, ^- r- f( Z: T' h2 F& X' HPosition Requirements:
1.        Successful applicants should have completed the Construction Safety Officer (CSO) and/or Environmental Auditor certification.
  `+ [% w0 s' e+ U7 c) h( K( H2.        Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role is required.
3.        Must have knowledge and experience in maintaining COR, auditing and compliance.
8 X& [8 U# }4 E) X6 t- ?$ v4.        Must have knowledge of Alberta OH&S.
6 [# Q" N7 Q: ]0 _5.        Capable of conducting incident investigation and safety report.
6.        Knowledge of ISNet
