The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers" b9 i- a |+ G2 ~8 l% g% Y3 |
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
. _( X) c6 X1 h§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
( {$ ?2 y8 ~' @2 X2 q+ [. _§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times/ ]3 j* _/ s. b! O3 F
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
! H" R4 D6 K( I5 m§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert. R: e! F) ^4 \& F5 C6 \
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties$ o8 J1 P! [$ P" X/ ~
§ Special projects as required

Qualifications:/ N [" C1 O. C% c3 j$ F
§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience- `7 p' ]/ J8 r
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision" ~0 W6 C3 N3 \8 u* y
§ Fundamental commitment to customer service& I# r8 F! L, Z, d+ [
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues; s: K2 V' U D# _+ _' R
§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
. `" Z1 g+ W# t3 [5 G; M§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software) I6 [1 }) \/ P
§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems) J- x, s/ N1 K {7 Q& D" ]

Position Summary:
$ T1 L* d( k8 P( |The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Manage a stable local IT environment

1 H$ a' k) ]. s§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
3 `# U% F5 u+ L4 C; y' O J( y0 ~§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports3 c, U. I% l: J; }2 N8 q
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation9 q: q& p- v9 a2 a; ^ }
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to
' v, W# I z, ^7 ~( B3 _§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
4 F9 ^) J7 @# V§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
$ q1 a. w* {- |§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
& J7 K/ O( u8 [* m# w$ b§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan
