Responsibilities

5 u3 a& f( Q' @! A• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 3 B# b! X' @, }: {4 }
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
4 g. Y+ \! @8 k1 X! q1 Fthe Board of Directors;
* g8 Y4 U& [, _9 V% _% u+ E• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations " y: Z, S( z; M4 `. h6 m8 a
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
& O0 _8 e) N+ ]5 u+ Wobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
; K3 B- q: q. Q: C3 t* fthe board; . B% ]3 e/ Q% {5 U
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; , \2 P/ k$ K: k9 D( t) q% \
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
1 P+ n7 D7 g# \- Athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
3 u3 w) T1 m4 {4 y4 M• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the # P1 w: a w$ a2 H6 z4 s
changing needs of the organization and community; / A F# D: ^( |" ?0 Z7 S
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue / L0 g2 w7 G* d0 T, [* o
commitments;
0 ^' D8 J$ i1 j2 D2 i• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 S. \+ s; v! j: j7 u! d
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
- y' o9 q8 F# n; X* Wselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' T) R* s( g" i: s
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , b# a( b& U% f7 F( y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
# n" u( a" P7 [7 q& [2 h9 h6 Keffectively and positively represent the association; " w' r7 x' C) w" h

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ; ]% q' g* q2 f
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
$ ?. o! N$ ? d0 C% v: d4 [• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
9 I7 R% D7 z; V7 g, Z. Pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED , b7 \6 p9 ]* h3 V
the forthcoming year; n) u6 B1 j+ m0 U* O* Q6 d* |" {
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
4 j6 t j; v9 r( c) X5 W2 ppractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of : K8 c0 p8 h3 g5 V8 j9 j
YWCA Canada; and

Required Experience
' f) N" B( U7 P: ?, H4 D3 Y& r; \• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
6 @9 B1 l6 x) n" H6 c• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 3 w& U! v% W. x" @1 C/ q' U* ]! ]- J
abilities;
, T" U& y1 J3 G0 x• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, * W' |+ E5 }4 Q3 Z# q. i

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
