Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
w! g6 p8 n5 ]. _; Y5 l9 zthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by - c# B) o- J( O# j5 q
the Board of Directors; ( _% y( k# \# K0 a; N/ d. t
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : x' V$ V; u+ V% K ]6 `
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . |: ^+ {# `% F/ s
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 1 o8 ~4 K! [' m6 L$ o; u
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
* n, H5 }; s, L2 ~9 i2 D& S/ ^2 p* mobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

& R J. u2 b8 Y• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 9 [2 C6 d8 Q! z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion - `" M5 k( ~: S4 n% c+ R' @) m
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 5 ~& I7 s% t" |2 `* C7 h. J
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ! K4 v7 l N2 A9 o+ l- J
changing needs of the organization and community;
* h$ e( S( ]5 J) [; v. V• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue # x8 N/ v5 Y, k/ o
commitments; 9 e% q; `+ ^( | j0 ~0 G
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; * ~3 I' a4 ^) b- Z* Z
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
4 O9 y* h% W9 _selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
8 T! ]' i7 j+ L5 H ], e• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; % Q. `# y3 G9 D3 i# N
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % R( `8 L$ r1 D/ c! E& i
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
# \3 |. z7 @9 `2 [9 L4 Pthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
- {& e R7 L' P( D1 f• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ K: T+ L% \% g M
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 q! D9 x% e' [the forthcoming year; " U4 H% C7 l8 X
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
; w; O n) V( z6 [( R, k1 d, k1 rpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
3 I3 f& B8 y) B4 E4 h# z! j* HYWCA Canada; and
8 ?+ K7 e# A \9 D A5 ~6 b• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Experience
$ \3 e( O, n3 L2 |1 |+ f• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; " W: c6 X) g. F! b
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " F/ b" s+ x: Q4 W
abilities;
% i; L3 A* B6 |' t6 d• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 1 r1 g) x5 t9 z5 \' ~
Networking and Fundraising;
