Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ' I5 [+ y9 S$ F; F* d7 D
execution of the YWCA Strategy

/ A" l: S" ~0 D5 _* S• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
/ T0 {% `/ F5 S: t6 q$ Ythe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by & c2 a+ |( B4 B# _- b" x
the Board of Directors; 2 t: G( T1 c+ F. V7 V: H. u
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : y, h! f* V' j" U
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to % \$ N1 C+ P5 d2 A6 [, i) ^# e
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
9 u* U, A. j# t5 M8 B) y! i• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% d: M: i, b5 U3 ]objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 2 ~& ^, A& f Q6 `* f

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ v( c5 m" I1 x G E• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 6 D% b; v" o; n) Q
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
% b( E' u" M5 ^6 K: q u• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 v( p6 b( h1 t3 M" w/ @
changing needs of the organization and community; 7 l: Y8 C2 I! O g' _7 z
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( ?' P% h; p! |4 q+ ^5 qcommitments;
9 y2 O0 s9 K1 Z. ]• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
0 t8 H. [ n0 D) X8 y% J• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( i% b* z: o6 Y e+ X# R
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 _( Z1 O. Z& E8 t" z
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring % ?. o7 o% f+ e% w" Q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
o1 p7 N6 z7 ?+ b: {9 @6 c$ L4 f• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 n% h/ q+ _# y/ L/ D' Lperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & U9 L0 l4 a! R7 T( m# m
the forthcoming year;
7 ~- Z2 M) F7 m. T4 q, }• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
2 Q% w+ p( u6 q$ W0 Dpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 d- K! w" O+ n" k' e
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation . x1 i% v; l, Q3 d$ c$ M7 k
abilities; 7 L4 @9 U0 _& W; V- h
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 3 ]- w% h3 P4 O2 X4 U2 S7 h
Networking and Fundraising;
