Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

) V& I* L6 X0 D2 A) }• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
8 F# b/ [! i* J3 W: C! o% Mthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 9 ?- u6 w$ l& s% _. H
the Board of Directors;
% D- U5 J7 B& R4 o; G1 Z• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 4 z7 W% A+ m0 D' i4 d
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to . s, i$ q2 R6 a' P
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 4 b1 ^$ l5 t7 I$ Y
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' @6 q, s# ]* Aobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by ' n+ c2 {. j' p1 W3 m
the board;
/ c8 l) g/ R1 a @& o$ P. e4 N• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - ]0 F+ _/ T+ s1 E# s9 Z
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, C; X$ e; o9 T; J. u) }the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; Q$ \% i0 i9 B6 }
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the $ o( V9 g3 V- y( j j! {8 L
changing needs of the organization and community; . o% ?/ H! q0 \! Z ~. S' l' ]4 a
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
; Q6 F. y2 f Xcommitments; ( ]' ?/ U* Q! A# R4 i8 A
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 8 [/ Q' y; y9 a: @7 C
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 4 k! @3 u3 H+ B
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & i) P8 [3 `; o" z$ K: g' a
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 k& v6 Y7 w4 e+ K" G• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ' |0 ]+ f# `+ J
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ! `! L4 q) b9 m3 ]
the forthcoming year;
- v6 M' J( x7 V F• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
5 C& o C& v, U' L" vpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
" g& Z' a1 n w* d4 n2 I5 Y; e• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
) d6 O( Q9 Q( F, U1 Y- R) y# V• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ H8 ` y$ O# B& p& p' }5 P* e6 mabilities; ( ^, ?3 W: t$ ~$ a* e
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
; c3 l: I7 D2 Q% H! Y2 u) QNetworking and Fundraising; / q [% m9 C3 m
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 8 h$ U5 [# _# j! }: u" N
