Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
4 L' F% B8 y2 ?& @execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: - D( r% K* P- P! P5 n
) S* o! N) V$ U; J/ |# B• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * r+ u# [! B1 I
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
' n) l6 a! f/ M8 l4 E4 A; Vthe Board of Directors; * j4 a8 [1 J/ }; u
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- q# @& R" B# N+ |' Y+ Rincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 5 ? G% N8 e- O, H6 {+ N
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
' h0 m# [; U( b• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ) V" A1 `0 Q) `+ b6 w
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 3 N8 H* ?+ k6 e% F8 N
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

' u' `) ? e) g6 m6 O• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective + X# Z: b) X& Y1 V, w
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring + g# l0 F. H8 f1 u5 K' @
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ! f1 T* G# s, _! s* p
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
, e" _+ {: L! j0 s' _ d! @performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 6 _3 X6 R6 L! U# Z
the forthcoming year;
# o: A& u2 Q7 H- I! S. x( ~, g• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " z3 C8 C3 c8 Z$ \
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ N/ d) F) a8 e/ O' y" A+ U

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

% S5 d' E) j, U+ n+ P+ \! n• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
4 W: j9 `8 t( `3 a" d7 k• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
. p0 t' I4 C; n9 p1 e2 i• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
% z$ `* L+ ?4 D# v2 E. Vabilities;
1 z: _- N" ]- E0 m• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 6 k( |/ ~- d1 X( f1 t; ?8 G& y2 J
