Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
$ y$ C. I3 P, }' S" g8 oexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: + Q J! Z# Z8 i; R/ `

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 7 w6 m% F6 I. Q( x! [2 N3 ~ k
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
@( ~0 J5 [" R g5 Hthe Board of Directors;
2 G' t" ]- V5 E( j6 f• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 V* t* }6 R; ~including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
8 v( N& g. ^4 @6 ?* o( Z! Jenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
1 \# S+ m* T" ]* g• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 2 x. t# n/ o5 Q y8 b9 C
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
0 q" Q: q5 A" f6 ~" w• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 1 }$ ~: A& x/ c( v
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
4 ~3 j- l$ }+ T• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
, |" o. ^ v9 ^7 S- E, Ychanging needs of the organization and community;
5 q) g. f) m, P3 ^ ^. J/ T• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue E* W* S3 `' r& ~% [2 Q' U( S9 `' y

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 5 ?9 e" n( e+ L
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ; Z1 }+ j) @& G* d( p: M& q! @2 l
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; . M+ _! O! A6 M! A* k
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , ?1 v: A7 ]& g6 `$ q
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 6 i3 x4 \" i% y9 V5 Q
effectively and positively represent the association; : d( [* U7 _2 [

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
- S3 X3 S( U0 p9 {4 P, t5 E" Q- sthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; " M; Y! L" `% n
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
8 D' D8 U K0 P( |- l6 L* Pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - _" u/ h; o- P# F% s3 q
the forthcoming year;
# E3 b$ T" X: ^: P+ e2 |• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 6 C& b' A4 G. g% M, n
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task , x/ p. R( c$ q# ?

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.
+ V2 G# W* b; d% ^7 v( B
% i* n, O' Y) nRequired Experience
6 J* ~# p& I8 D5 F• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 ^0 q& m# K2 {. Q: [; m5 t+ e
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ o# l' v) m# |abilities; 7 \7 L+ _& A. j
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
/ w `4 l0 y1 e1 s" x0 ?! `9 H2 QNetworking and Fundraising; 4 z3 V7 d9 `; ]1 b: ]6 b6 q! L
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
! [9 Z4 u1 t2 oand financial statements; and
* l1 f! }" f1 y$ S- G• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
