this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and / I+ Z+ U( m+ S) q
execution of the YWCA Strategy K7 v' T1 R5 [* H7 }/ k& _

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 i% x2 }$ |/ r' t, j- ~; T
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 x* t* W) C+ U. |$ W0 c. ]0 ~
the Board of Directors;
' V/ ?* l9 Z8 P: F g4 n/ h) z• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations # A) d7 p f! Z# F: w8 |
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
; d4 k8 c% n, X$ E+ Qenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
! o9 N. O K! P, c9 Q1 e$ U• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
; n6 t* D8 B: h6 D- k( q; bobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by - N1 {9 t, o. p: t
the board;
+ x% F0 M- L/ _8 o3 l• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
3 a; \9 s5 a" ^ J) U• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion # V% ?" p) M8 g4 s
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; $ t4 Z6 |1 ^; R
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
! A: z- \# n. ^1 Z$ K# Q( gchanging needs of the organization and community;
+ w6 p6 N) R9 w+ J• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
! f7 b% I! s: ~1 a1 W2 Icommitments; 7 a: f! j9 s! d$ n/ v s
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; & |; G# x4 w0 s; H4 j; W
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
. o, @* J# U: }selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 I6 Z5 E3 h, h9 e6 q7 c. d8 S! r• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; S. H. L7 R8 n' `
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
8 \ ?9 q6 {; B* {6 w5 weffectively and positively represent the association; + S0 o' @9 c) i% ~
0 R* T/ f4 Y K7 i8 Q3 S• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 [! C, E6 Z1 s, C2 I$ h
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ' b$ ^. G% E- J& x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
: p. ~2 ^; q4 x u! J4 aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
3 T. Y/ j) Z3 R/ d+ N1 Dthe forthcoming year;
; L: S) b4 k* X2 u! q& u/ p! w1 H• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical ; G6 ^, A3 i: I! P. d4 S7 W
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ! B+ h7 U# `, b4 A9 F; q8 u# K

Required Experience
2 u4 L/ I( L( a. T. z• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
$ | @1 D+ Z. s# ^• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation : |& m: f7 S5 F3 ]/ |
abilities; % T' f+ B# H( h( x# X% I$ ~
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
! g q0 _9 b2 F4 nNetworking and Fundraising; 0 |( `2 ^9 K3 K; s5 u. {
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
/ F7 a4 Z9 Y W: Zand financial statements; and ( j, C* D) X/ u' T; ]
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
6 p6 z; P+ z' `5 O: E9 fcentered perspective. / E- P7 j! c; B! W
