Job Description:

Recruit Participants
1 S. t* [: b; M
! y6 }1 f) C2 Q, d8 z' X$ X" n-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
. A3 H$ h* u) \- f$ V-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities
' e- W4 k) a/ [6 }5 L5 `9 n
+ C; I2 ~3 |& a6 E) ^Organize Leadership Training Sessions
1 _4 m; k5 o7 P: {% t' W-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
" ?9 j1 X5 |  A8 {2 T. D: l" ~-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas
: R7 E4 O9 j' x! z7 h+ s
Plan and Facilitate identified public events
-        with youth participants

Media coverage
  C2 i* b8 R8 \: c-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project

-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
8 T. d3 @$ b3 n& J1 o$ ], V-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

Professional Development
-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

5 h/ O) p/ y9 `0 g8 O-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
% e5 l3 E% n+ H3 T-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

7 \5 }" j3 F* S: V" eReports to Funders and Program Manager
# _/ a* o2 d# e4 X4 e-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
8 q1 a1 Q& w% ?( A1 ~-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model

Qualifications for this Position

* q0 l( R: _. |  H/ p-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
6 `) ]& z: z9 \3 z' K. I" h7 w-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
-        experience with project coordination
  @3 K" W2 K  ]. S. r+ |-        degree or diploma in human services field
  Y  V3 n1 a6 n6 ~0 c-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
