provide supplemental support to newcomers who have complex needs.

Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
" v) ^' B2 T c9 @; WThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff, 1 p# Y# N# ?$ B
newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
/ ~7 J- }) b9 f; @Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
9 H8 i: A& v* a ^& \needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for & t: R2 q: T8 z( g1 I5 k
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
) s& P- y! M# n% _ _assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Developing of social networks and community supports for newcomer families.

Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers.

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and 4 m: @/ N( m# m
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.

Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications

Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate 1 |/ K' c( O3 _* q

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field 0 K+ t9 V: b: U9 t6 l4 m% t; v
