Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or " K% w, X0 n( x- n4 s0 L! b
community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to 6 F3 \1 U. q d9 K
provide supplemental support to newcomers who have complex needs.

The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
4 D, U8 Z/ m2 M7 ?" F$ o knewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social 2 e# f# f' _2 \1 @
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
% u" x9 R# u; U& x* x! @" zneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
0 }- f5 o% f4 Onewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
+ W& K1 {+ W- q, M4 cassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Providing holistic information or advocacy services for immigrants and refugees served.

Provide intake, needs assessment, referral, case plans and action plans to support 7 U$ x9 f7 d- l6 Z

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers.

experience in Social Work or related human service fields.
$ Y& N/ G! D9 ?7 [6 ^ Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family : t0 P! s# ~ F4 c) F% R9 y
support needs

Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages ( r' V! w1 l7 d2 W1 w
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate 7 F4 d2 J$ y4 ]1 w& T
insurance coverage for work
