: z$ T3 U5 Y& t/ DFUNCTION:
+ e* _9 }6 ]9 U/ m& j3 X: E7 OAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
# E$ r, S9 d/ a• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
! x4 S4 E% E8 g0 s3 |# Y• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
* `  `' c4 p" T: J; Z, C+ E• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
. Q  k% x& i  S% D0 {3 G• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
- f: o0 i8 H7 c, R$ L$ M$ G  v- x. J• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
8 K3 \; N7 @$ S% u2 M9 m• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
* t6 ]; N% J9 m0 w* R7 b• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
/ S( ~# I) x9 j• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
! R+ x* `3 _; s/ G2 B• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
5 y/ m# x2 v3 L- w& _' o7 r0 p) Z• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
. d1 ?# G4 R! s2 Z3 ~7 c• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
4 C# L) K/ V' h  C0 R• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
