As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

2 N+ b- R& a3 h! U/ i3 v( v3 ?$ O• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
7 }6 I( E* b5 |; Q3 G/ B  N+ H• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
% k( Q1 V  y! x+ n3 y! g• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
! T6 k8 I! T; g$ {$ E0 M• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
/ \$ W: T. S; A• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
- F' Z, L9 D! a* b• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

2 l# e) Z* S" JSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
# b" w. B9 Q5 t- C• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
1 P1 @5 ~  ^' T/ F• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
: S( ~' ]0 p5 f6 p% E1 }8 I• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
' T0 L: V( T. A$ }• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
  g- Z! _4 z$ u• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
8 g. A  z/ E* E* S• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
' ~: b; v1 x% r  \• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
