7 J* v1 w8 ?0 F4 X  Y( n' ~- wAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
8 [2 z" m+ Z  D• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
9 ^) R% X3 Y& q' w5 v• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
" F; S* r6 Y6 j2 s9 v/ ]Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
- K* ^' F3 Q3 M, v% p3 c; {% H6 Q0 H• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.

8 D7 a  n7 X8 ~. G• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
( V, r# s* u' D7 G2 o4 ]; y: m• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

' u& z2 u6 X! [4 O" R5 _SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
0 R0 }2 M$ L9 E' X, H% |+ q- t• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
/ A; t  R0 D) X( V/ R4 }• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
: s# C4 Z, c% j& y' n; {% ~9 v• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
% z, _  m/ Q: x• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
