4 a& p/ U4 Q& C# _; d3 g1. sub floor did not hold tight to the floor joists. Screws are doing better than nails for this purpose.

5 S- ]# U/ _# d; e3. supporting beams are not level due to earth settlement.

For 2, you may need someone with engineering knowledge to find out, but there should be a building code governing the span distance. For 3, you can go down the basement to do a visual check yourself.
