* S8 e0 e7 g$ Q1 ?( {6 XEssential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.( f& K l, k- n; U5 j! y4 _

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:* F' o$ B2 I) |# k ]/ |5 Y. H/ q& U

Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.

3 @- B# ?7 @5 D9 x9 jTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

U6 c4 M5 U1 ]7 ~Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.$ G- o0 C; i/ |1 g8 A. O
3 D: b2 J' Q+ _( fNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.! `* N" O) s, I& J& J" v3 ]2 u

Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

% H5 u% M8 D3 R- T% {Proposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators.
