Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
5 c z2 p4 P" N% B& e: w8 I Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site., z% a! Y8 ^* }& }$ k
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops./ x3 c2 s% _* ~+ h1 f1 z' v) ]: J' `
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.. i A y2 H4 y3 w
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.; ] ]" r" S e7 D
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.8 ]$ R7 V% g. @& |3 Z* D M& ]

Qualifications:/ N& E9 O. S( q. L

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience., m4 h+ M7 S Q: n1 O- J/ }$ o
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 J( j4 K! s# H1 Q5 |- i* v$ J3 | k4 h Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) G T% j+ X2 S9 M/ y! Z; C+ B- I Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
2 M: a2 H, ]: V$ l1 m2 ~- _$ p# V Knowledge of community resources.$ z9 s- S7 D" q! r
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.# i* B; h& z. ?: |' M* a* H
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. 3 h c7 S3 T D1 F8 B

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; $ a q9 h4 o! x& f4 @+ f
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. . y9 q/ v% `3 ^8 S5 j0 f
