Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 K5 m7 h  F& S3 k, ^* B, M Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
& |# c/ W& f. y7 a: k! }" s. C# q1 s Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
' P- Y2 Q6 e+ _2 C7 I2 n Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
( Y; d: v. H. A; X5 Q. U/ ]" c Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
& b1 L, S0 L6 y  H Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
- }7 |7 c: }) \" W% y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
3 b4 I& B/ i( d Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
' _) _" k- ?) X: s, X
  K$ j+ u9 ]/ M7 J Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 ]9 G7 }: b8 O Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
) [$ @( Z4 H8 J Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

( w: @4 w! S5 Q0 _This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
