Key Responsibilities & Duties:

; L. ^4 I6 x( } Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
! U9 O! m, e8 ~ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
8 ?4 U! Q! Z( G4 a, _9 A Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
, d+ x5 c% f2 w0 \5 B Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
! ~' d( B) h2 E, x6 S: x Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
5 H: n0 A' `, ]  L3 i% } Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
7 y7 A- G+ J9 ^6 Y4 L Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

0 a" A2 u5 M  s. s7 l. x; B Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
# A$ y2 G' R7 p6 r( z5 u$ V  f; `- ?: ` Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
; j& ?! u) k8 \1 C# i5 ]% W3 M' S Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
1 ?' i. v' m6 d6 p Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
