Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

/ d- }2 V0 B% P7 ^9 I8 ZMajor Responsibilities:
& i7 Q9 _0 E# J( d; h1 i+ {# d& v: X$ [•        Process research equipment design;
. i  {+ E" n3 v3 c) q' _. N•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
1 U# t: u7 |! D* T' y5 p- t- y•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
•        Others.

Qualifications:
" a5 M! Q% a& q  o9 ]•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
2 ]6 W' [! S% P( F5 \6 v•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
