It is well-known that the JDJ had vehemently opposed the scientific theories of Galileo and Copernicus, but did you know that they had also opposed Benjamin Franklin's lightning rod?

关于雷电, 当时的著名的JDT 有过如下解释
3 f! P3 X: [1 t* i0 \St. Thomas Aquinas said "Rain and winds, and whatsoever occurs by local impulse alone, can be caused by demons. It is a dogma of faith that the demons can produce winds, storms, and rain of fire from heaven." " G0 R h4 Y1 j( e% {8 c2 Z% s& g/ l

基于这种信仰, 当时的好JDT们采用多祷告, 多鞭打, 处死女巫来逃避雷劈。可
