The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.3 g% h6 d# e2 z: }
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.( k8 u4 k$ W* m. [, x; |6 c
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge G/ q+ B+ y0 e# x, @
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
# `, u4 X6 c1 p- i, \• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.4 T6 {1 x# X9 s a6 f
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
; ^7 }( S( B* z• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
' w$ R5 _9 ], Y# }+ p4 }! W• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
/ _/ \- A# Q! W4 v% m0 |1 R• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO" Q# @ t# c5 s. g/ r) f& W2 s
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

; Y+ q! I0 w' b$ h• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
1 b3 d; p" G- ~, O* n• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
6 b8 ~4 s7 N0 {' y+ g: O9 h1 Z• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
1 ~$ f3 h' A; k$ p) t; [• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
: q. W& Q1 |0 ]+ l6 X# Z( A8 E• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required

• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances+ d4 p! J; }5 P* Q# t7 ~- A
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required, \* {3 W' _) F2 h4 t& R& U" o% M. W
& C6 R, i3 j. Q$ N4 F% i& Z$ C; J, JINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
1 f, V5 h0 m; o9 t• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers A$ t' A& e* s1 C
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
- S: u4 |- |) s+ [* N4 T, S1 ]• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
4 N+ f9 }+ ^2 i1 F. F5 T0 q% i• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
6 F x# q) M- e0 ^9 t7 g• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
+ G( X5 r+ h5 B' S! \$ z. ]! k• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
