The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.! C( W6 K5 U9 S4 U

OPERATIONS
& j& T r t U j) G( t4 @' k• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.( ~' u4 ^' F {8 V; v
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.* ]+ s# Z, X5 i/ t9 b' p+ \; S
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
C- R$ W l. @. G1 u9 T• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
, Q, G* B" C- M7 B6 A. T" ^• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program./ a5 a5 M# ~, ^" k }
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
+ `" I' ?. L& o! l0 f t• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
9 K, S3 Q5 o$ [, l6 `4 r/ |' C% `+ F• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities& U2 |9 `* H) j" c' M
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

' w7 i. {. _4 @/ r1 _7 o• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
+ J3 c' {- t' A/ j3 v" p0 h• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

/ x! Z: {9 c3 e, N* T; r7 ^& A• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position+ o& h5 U# g& q- M5 {3 ]8 x4 `
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation/ X; d5 H, y( S+ v
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate4 b/ E+ R& Z6 g' O
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department2 D. s7 O! u; v9 K6 u; I
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
0 n T- w, x* e O7 h" U0 S( L6 {• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
t# W% ~( p, l+ h4 Z5 ?7 m0 Z• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
; g* ~) G6 C1 }• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required% S4 A# c& s# \
; j) _! a6 ]) m8 ]0 ^( S
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
% K) B; R$ v& ^- }• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
' ^2 c- i8 s ^* V2 p7 D2 P$ _3 f; Z• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)5 {9 ]' j# Q% U5 I! K9 N0 z
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate , V; Z( |% o& s( Z
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination" z U+ e2 k3 K% ?5 a
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability( \' m/ a- G: U4 T
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills9 j8 E0 F9 v# C$ H3 @7 b
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
( m; s, L6 N! v0 o7 l; A* ?• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure/ j" `- p# `5 A7 K/ x# g0 Z. H% ~
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects % d+ ^! R; T: ^! P, s ^+ W8 [! t
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
