The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

Job Responsibilities:

OPERATIONS
' X! z5 x: o7 F0 R0 b• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
8 M7 n0 e( S5 `& O4 H, s• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.& N6 s; [+ p9 X8 b1 A, n
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge2 Z( o' g' q s8 E/ O7 L( x
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills., H$ { |# _5 {) D. a. Z g
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
g& e$ Q2 w7 a) N• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
' d) B6 \' Z; {7 V2 f• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
' x0 S& f) A/ F3 I& N$ i2 _6 H/ ]/ q• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities% X) k# U1 c' J
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
3 h; b- i% S1 c4 D$ G" v. F7 z. k4 m• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO1 P( y* v. Q4 K0 R$ ]) ?
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up/ U8 c6 j" e' l1 g2 E. \
* r% ] g4 G( n& W' s) OADMINISTRATION6 {# w5 G, K* s- d/ ^: D/ p
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position$ W6 N N, H2 E; i0 j5 V) i; `4 t, I
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation+ @1 P5 C6 r0 t7 T$ x: V$ Y# R
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate! G4 X2 }' T2 U
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department2 L0 q8 e8 H2 H$ t5 l4 F4 b
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 5 d3 t g' o6 F) T: M5 T
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency$ ^0 K" n9 J% u- u- c% e/ _- g0 x
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
% P9 D' _1 A1 V8 b% e! x7 {9 y6 v• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required4 G' D6 l3 O4 ?, j7 D- m9 {
' H# | h# w7 B' ZINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
1 U4 e: l8 g# W2 }! c+ o( k- k- J• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers. {# ]0 b4 o7 A/ H8 J( i( O
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)" j" g$ K% q) I L% w; \
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 2 D. K0 k+ U2 D) _
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required& W+ x8 A1 q' Y+ @8 |, J+ o

Qualifications:& o0 M; d( q6 K1 ?9 ]
- G" f( r+ Z$ X/ G• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination' J7 H$ }9 e( b) O" V2 g3 ]9 t
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
4 d5 ?* k- u$ e• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills3 f! ^) s$ Y2 J
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
9 q& k u: ~/ X* O+ H, A5 }- ?• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
$ P/ F; }8 F- u/ o( Y( V; E" K• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
