Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* [' z" Q" [( h8 ]* I Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
+ D$ _$ m  a/ ~+ ` Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
; R: B2 h) ~7 @6 h/ ?$ E1 y: t4 {& N Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
/ l9 `0 C% e+ d' k/ t6 Y Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
3 |4 D# k2 }% _& e Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
0 J$ Z) p" U- B Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
' R" x+ t1 N+ U6 X0 | Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

, p- ]: a4 v! u1 T& F+ p% ~
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
2 ^: u# I+ }3 s8 b+ } Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, X2 T4 w) A# h" X, D* B Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
3 ]( d3 t& u1 Q! K Knowledge of community resources.
$ D, y- B+ A1 }% Q  F Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
) }( U+ e( {. p1 J Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
* J8 h5 L6 x3 K# g: ~( r3 D2 }, s$ ^
Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
