Key Responsibilities & Duties:

+ Q' v$ R7 D. @% H& I- f- c- {5 Z Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 G, O9 A. Q; i+ |3 u2 B/ j# S3 v" S Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
0 f, B8 c9 f, i Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
! w0 O  F# r; m9 v% N+ H+ I Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
* A& Z2 B' E2 m! |( e Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
# X$ V4 E+ A& e* y Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

; O! ]0 F, \# p- wQualifications:

. p# m. e  p9 {3 S+ h$ _ Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
8 I  P3 L% r5 \, M Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
* d: g5 P; D5 J0 w. c5 Y; Z Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
) p6 G1 G4 `$ v' i+ [0 t/ R Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* Q2 k7 i( p1 R- u/ H  v) N Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
" k6 C, {9 e0 \2 K2 x; O8 D) QThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
% E5 u1 R6 s* J% M% M& ?) Astarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
