New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
6 ^; J, c) ?8 B7 W8 y( Q* v/ I Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
- S4 x8 b7 u; F& q7 _" [ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
3 m( `; M) ~4 B Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
; |, e6 v# B* u* S0 i3 V5 |0 M Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
* z5 G6 Z: S+ V5 T( Z Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
6 B$ ^$ T- _% a7 |. M4 v Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
6 @- S( i" D7 C1 b+ ]( L Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


6 B. `- ^" e0 e) S8 _Qualifications:

0 c, r" b, o: q5 F- R" Y# W) w0 ? Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
. v5 y8 m) E. s! Y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
7 K0 ^8 d- f& @" J4 O/ ]6 j Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
" [% m  l5 j7 k6 G$ K% f Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

) w$ S/ V  D4 S( n  A- R/ _Position:
* j3 j8 t1 g. i4 u  L6 m/ T' C$ C" UThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
