Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
6 ^; J, c) ?8 B7 W8 y( Q* v/ I Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
- S4 x8 b7 u; F& q7 _" [ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.1 L- |# V- u% C( j
 Completing required paperwork.% y; R5 p+ p [* S8 E
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.& F# |9 Y( E, v9 o
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

; |, e6 v# B* u* S0 i3 V5 |0 M Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
* z5 G6 Z: S+ V5 T( Z Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

. v5 y8 m) E. s! Y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.4 }' E; |5 ~# K, Z0 H8 q
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.! ^5 D0 C0 ^6 `+ r" p: N
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.: e% A& g. S) u# y
 Knowledge of community resources.
7 K0 ^8 d- f& @" J4 O/ ]6 j Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
" [% m l5 j7 k6 G$ K% f Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

* j3 j8 t1 g. i4 u L6 m/ T' C$ C" UThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 8 M1 ]$ T- E/ l: f/ f+ n
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
