Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.- h5 ], b+ s( h& B- G& v" {4 K9 W
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.3 Y6 ^1 W6 V; m y/ G/ [
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.' z v* J+ h0 C3 ~! y! g* `
 Completing required paperwork.
) d$ h+ i( ^0 C5 T" t3 \1 T Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.& A& r- m) n1 X' I- d( h- I
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
' Y B: h6 |' A- N8 a# Z$ l& O5 a Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.

 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
+ |8 ]0 @8 E) v& g6 ?$ I+ H" |- L9 S1 R% v5 ^0 u- `; d- l2 p
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 R' B% a1 h% o! } Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
' s; r% m3 C6 @& F; g7 f+ X Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
# z3 L6 M0 }8 `$ }' Y6 V Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
" @( O8 Y$ P* Y7 a' g; i Knowledge of community resources.
$ J, V" c9 e* w3 \ k" I) C$ o Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 z' f- O+ U% t: j Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
- O8 _+ l, z; e6 istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
