Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% B; k1 e) d- r9 W7 w8 A Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ V. i; Y# E7 x  m1 E0 |) J Completing required paperwork.
) y( @( J3 s2 I' }) v' }0 [# G  a Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
' \2 L4 h/ v, Y! W# v& q Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 y5 V  X; [! A4 {+ G Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
# ]% T3 d) L6 p; a, F0 H Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
9 O. z$ O: f; S8 M1 @ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ X; e- f  `. l7 ]. R8 Z0 F4 z# N Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
3 u4 T6 |" [6 X" @ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
/ M! F, m  M; J, u' S Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

1 V2 Z/ ]: d: }: @& ~5 t6 TThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
