Responsibilities
' O" K5 k; o- N1 v3 ]4 _ Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
! s, X+ g- p$ I$ I4 i Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
! W4 Q1 [% T# i1 H. I7 D+ D: h Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
. l5 c, `% }3 C0 _( b% f, C9 @$ ?9 ^ Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
+ e* c) a( \6 K* O* m Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
. G* c! a# H7 x# q" i9 n2 e; X" e Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
& p' R# r  P5 ]& _. Q Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
5 O6 Q# G% E+ K9 G7 P/ o Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
