Responsibilities
+ o! W% k4 H1 Q/ @ Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
1 S' N' J% x. ^% T% r Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
" i6 p8 K& x4 g8 q% \ Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
' A4 D0 F/ a9 B8 j# }+ F Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
: _8 b5 ]1 {9 E" P Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
! J+ E6 b4 [1 n Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

$ j3 @3 K" _$ q0 z7 W( t Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
4 ^! m- ?! ]. q7 x  f- B Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
, e- g8 a1 h& t5 b& b+ t  A Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
* d/ p+ r# R0 \; ^+ G& U: D; v. t Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
