Responsibilities
; G# ~+ I- p% H" z Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
4 i# z8 h+ J# D! N: \ Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
( g; o* v6 |+ u; l* ]3 }2 _ Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
/ P. u9 D3 _% p  Z1 r Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
( d. m4 `: C1 i* I$ H Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
0 X) a. H; `. _( K8 j2 @ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
# V( u8 H# u1 H Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
