3 _4 d8 {) L. V  I5 T& S& q( t Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
& T: b. m! {1 y3 u* e Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
, m" F% q6 E& P! r8 l  O$ s  e" ] Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
" I+ p/ h) O  ?% Y* x$ p Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
, Z5 a: }# R  S. h Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
( f  q) `3 B9 D$ l; T+ `, w# h Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
0 l( a. k0 ^. D. j/ M Social work degree or diploma
: ~6 ~$ ^) X, p# s; k6 n4 Z" s Current RSW designation preferred   
8 q: h4 l& G; X  Q8 B7 S& { Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
) m8 e/ [% {+ f1 j Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
& S  `6 G. a9 [6 f4 { Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
0 i' j1 |5 `( s4 [8 i  G( c. s Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
. l4 }1 q( O  l5 | Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
0 I# ^% l; Z/ w! W3 C: T Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
