 Proactively and independently develop initiatives in ethno-cultural communities that
* J6 Y h/ E" L# e+ \( I" a Nincrease their capacity to participate fully in the community
0 B% u8 e7 ?) F3 b9 R, z2 F Develop initiatives that convene stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies and foster collaborations between immigrant and main-stream stakeholders.
$ f& M) S2 m, j- o) ` Proactively assist immigrant communities with: identifying needs, training, strategic planning, board development, project development, community economic development, funding proposal writing, program planning and implementation
$ s1 L+ x* g/ V, e* q Develop Community Economic Development initiatives and provide small business coaching to groups and individuals
' ^8 S" ^" t5 `% E4 y Facilitate group processes and workshops & e6 J& |- [) `7 ]3 O; O4 \& B( g
 Advocate for systemic changes that foster full participation of newcomers in the community

. V1 G" C' q4 U1 E5 w Demonstrated ability to independently develop community initiatives
% I c$ _/ P+ F* S Community development and CED background and experience
8 Y6 G, D0 Q7 Q( ]/ w6 ? Strong group facilitation skills
1 ^% p2 y, A/ j! c! P Experience supervising staff6 {. N! c* g; \) `+ b
 Understanding of cross-cultural issues
/ o! g9 t$ [8 w1 d9 V' T9 z Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing skills
) K0 o% A0 X& h6 D8 m* N Strong organizational and Program delivery skills$ Y* s) d. i2 {% l- j4 y' l5 M5 Y

Education/technical skills : }/ p6 C" ?- B/ z
9 i7 v5 g* o. E" }) D7 y Post-secondary education7 z! f- F% \& h3 `8 U$ o( Q
 Experience/facility with Windows-based computer systems (specifically Windows 95/98/2000, MS Office, MS Word, databases, spreadsheets etc.)

Salary range starts at $34,195. ! Z) S" i. L. T3 P: D
