Edmonton police assured residents that they had no reason to be fearful, but officers did ask neighbours for their shoe sizes and vital stats during a canvass of the area.! s) o! T% r- S8 f3 o

The woman was found slain inside the 1,200-square-foot home shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, said Edmonton police spokeswoman Lisa Sobchyshyn.

Thurlow and Marg Essington, who have lived in the neighbourhood for 35 years, could see the police forensics vehicle from their front window just a few houses away.
