Alberta College is governed by an independent Board of Governors 0 M g# d' Q: j; z. q0 a* [( F8 Z
drawn from a wide cross-section of the community. Established in
* D; L# @; }; s! ]9 u" U% V( @1903, Alberta College predates both the City of Edmonton and the
" K: i: a' H# q- L% X* yProvince of Alberta. It was founded by concerned citizens as the ; ]0 ^7 _- Q7 j
first post-secondary school in the area, on land bequeathed by

initially had three departments: academics, commerce and music,
