 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.

 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.4 }: B! b0 p+ a' M
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

Settlement Counsellor
  H% [' z6 X5 W& y Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

+ ~+ P( z: ]1 R5 ? Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
/ H$ V; V3 i1 b  _4 g5 K3 s# m4 [* _ Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
4 _6 }" Y0 i" z: ? Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.: i6 v; T9 G+ w) Y, h! y* K
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.
9 ]3 T6 f; }! } Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.

9 c; `9 ^6 k, |8 B' N$ _/ M( |' I Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.! ^: D& K+ T" J: M* X
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.7 u8 u6 l# P6 j' ?/ D8 b7 v- n
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.* Q; J: g- m  a
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.  A, H4 d- Y1 R5 U- J
