- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information5 g% z+ x, g5 K/ l8 b
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
/ s, ~" J; O. A2 x- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
8 W" C {# T8 J3 W1 e+ H- provide support to ISP staff
' p* M3 E+ H% i9 B- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members4 |6 ^6 ~, h, t
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
2 n% T7 O, V K: o0 t Y2 r8 c4 p5 A3 B- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
5 [$ c$ `; ]" X4 } s- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants! J% e* @9 d4 E! `1 B3 h
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
% p+ `. C- v; {- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
7 r" {/ B3 o" K* z- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
4 u0 f- i- `) D+ L1 t- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
8 R( ?: Z3 u2 a4 L2 O- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned2 y0 Q) |; T( h& P+ P1 P

Qualifications
( d+ D$ s" ?# l$ V2 @# h- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
& T" w% |0 J4 y$ x$ l( h" G& q- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available% W- ~( v" r# T$ \ Z' o% G
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
4 k3 i* K4 x% c# {- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software$ X e2 Z# `! ^+ f& b7 @8 r
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
; G3 z! g& _" Y9 ]! b- good interpersonal and people skills2 E( {8 d0 Z7 `+ Y& i
- good organizational and coordination skills/ \( D5 Z) p; N; P8 J3 o
- valid driver’s license

- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
