Position: Outreach Worker

- U% P$ N# I7 z4 `/ I7 CJob Description
" P2 w d& D1 B8 @- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
4 @. O3 b" F G S7 D- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.' h+ q; ]5 K$ C
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP& H c( G, w. H5 c' j9 S
- provide support to ISP staff
2 i5 _) C3 }# N! t0 k3 L8 O- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members0 J# c" c8 K9 `9 T9 h7 z; W/ p
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities. @$ `6 x5 J' K! b' [# t
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated" c6 Q, i/ i7 P1 X) G% A
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants* F: b) j1 p+ @- U9 ~" i% D
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals+ n8 A3 k2 F- Y! k* Q$ u
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- d% N$ z& }& o) F3 i. r- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.- a$ \; `% q# K! o) j
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities9 o- u* u& w# e7 x
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
* v+ |" }9 L$ w" z- other duties as assigned

Qualifications
7 K% s) @/ K. Z- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
! v+ v7 q8 O7 e5 S- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
( \; u. [% U- g( _- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
$ b$ p" t V0 i' w4 R; Y- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software6 g0 C9 G# L# Q& u& A
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
% |/ p; D$ O, y" F% C9 r+ h& A- good interpersonal and people skills. M0 ~2 D6 V) _- a
- good organizational and coordination skills
