Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description6 J6 h, Z9 i4 E7 m& F. P
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information% R' X* J' ?; e+ E
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc. X1 Y, U) ]9 [! e( o5 F) A$ }. u
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
1 \7 d8 u, W, u) v& j- provide support to ISP staff
1 C) ]$ _: X; B5 D! x5 M3 _- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
7 k- q0 s9 H2 I, g1 b5 q8 ~/ {/ N- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities4 U9 G" m! |4 k; F$ R
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
V8 q# z5 [; Y, n- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants, w! H5 y5 N5 e1 g# O
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals. s4 s& N* X$ f5 k0 G7 Z3 }% ^
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
1 u0 i) h2 b# e+ t2 R s2 o5 X& a) t0 h- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.

- other duties as assigned

Qualifications
. ~, f. d- H+ x$ A- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered4 d w4 `" T$ A( u. c
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
: F" x! n9 {9 ^3 b- G8 X0 J- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
# z$ O, D/ U2 | _$ b- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software. `( a$ X* J: [( L6 q% u
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)! l% C' {' M n$ T
- good interpersonal and people skills
