Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description0 I: k- Z( }5 p3 K+ B9 l
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information8 \& n5 R2 X% b+ c
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc. n, X/ p" \# R# ^- Z' `! H( B9 J
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP- K# e% s4 J0 d+ t D, v
- provide support to ISP staff% d! g) _8 s7 L/ ?5 h w
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
9 ^& ]; m: ^: N* K/ b# U- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities4 i* k0 l+ f; ^+ P o4 w1 H! U% _
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
* d/ a5 A9 Y8 n' v- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
) a' A6 J2 Z# O! Z- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
\2 b$ P1 n9 t: p% Z) v, `- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder, u/ S1 ]5 X. w- j/ @/ {
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
( t. c; @6 U4 f$ h; W0 l( {' w- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities O3 s4 ?& a! X: }2 s! h% ?/ y# C
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

6 K0 ]- m' ^& X" [- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered" G1 b0 m) A5 \# w4 W
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available. h3 i! ~5 |6 u4 X; C* W
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers" f) ~0 Z* b4 _' q$ E! j
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
0 f- S% W5 z d* a9 L- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)& Y( O* f$ x7 x u1 L" H+ t1 K
- good interpersonal and people skills9 d% {! M" z7 X2 J7 L N
- good organizational and coordination skills
7 i. K, R$ u: Y- valid driver’s license
