SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. * F3 `7 |' w/ C r' c; J2 X& k
SEDI is staffed to:
% ^1 B. B& \$ |- h6 D$ S$ ?6 e& {• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
$ }, I( Q1 Z* K' @: i9 g• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
9 f: o( o3 q5 K6 w9 A' w" E" u• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
: o% t( ~& H) ]# f' [0 d/ k• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
; z- q3 {9 Z4 z: K ^. }- {- }2 f7 k• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits / e0 C% S: ~5 ^1 O
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

}* }* z- m2 M3 Y/ aPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
4 q9 F) g$ t {2 k• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ( @, [4 x0 o, Z" M; ^
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 9 {# i9 z$ X4 b% A4 r
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ' P- z t3 L: A9 ?9 }: C$ o
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities $ g; u3 d0 I, X: V/ {% d b
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 1 M3 ?3 m4 D3 z! q
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

$ A0 o. x z" |* I- ^• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
! o) Z0 ~' z! h8 D• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
6 Z2 a/ H( A! B. \4 {• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 4 q' V6 R! A, J- f, [1 m Q
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
]1 `% C; h. [# \" I0 T7 o• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
; I3 d3 _# L3 D' C# U- H• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
5 z5 L5 [% V+ x3 q' y' S( h• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 6 A; r \, w8 c1 M8 ?5 i
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
* P% {2 }& v, ^3 ], l* C# w• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts / I! P \4 y5 P7 Y+ G
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
' P. B( y5 u0 {• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Content / curriculum development experience ( {6 F5 R, U! b
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

$ v; | Z9 n" b0 Y8 ?' q• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. ; E1 r0 s& G" K9 h$ W0 [! X
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset ) x, U4 a- W* i, X5 H2 W
• Policy research skill set is an asset
