Payroll:
/ z1 v5 P( ~ v _• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
1 X7 ^% G4 P) ]3 F8 @! {• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
+ q1 ?/ e# y1 R m* }$ I0 P6 D. c• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 1 b a3 g9 n# G4 K1 [7 J4 q
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:" ?+ |0 d& x \8 l! m( `
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider" M7 s# c) }1 K9 w$ d, b5 Q
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
, x. ^$ E4 _5 Q• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s$ E! z6 G: V. ?* ^# `, G6 X; {
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority; F6 n; p, L: P; Q# _5 V1 a& N" v6 ~
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations- [) b; S ]. F- t. Y# I# ` X
Z& r2 u1 [4 @- Q4 X) q7 aCompliance:
/ a4 F% \. E6 h: q, u& H6 X' f3 r. a) x" i• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll : o5 ?/ g+ B% z" F* ^; J6 Y- j9 N
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.3 N! a1 R' b+ u
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
0 F4 ~. \% M4 g6 h% o- h• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting4 D5 q$ u/ ^ ?; w5 D% g. s/ f% k

Accounts Receivable:
3 k: m7 i/ m K2 @/ |• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit* S+ @. b( f& Y+ F' B( X: R
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department5 R1 [! ]: x/ q; \8 `4 x
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments _# ~+ g: k6 M: ~
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:
, O/ W* @" I a& z
3 b& u3 I7 e' s) }- }• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
- W5 K( e( j- B$ Z* i$ T3 p• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association! G8 U8 ?5 q5 Z6 p: q' s0 B
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position! \) a; r0 U1 m9 | d
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
. f/ a- W6 R' w4 ?$ l9 ?) }• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work! Z! K2 g% r5 e; T2 N
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
