Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

( ~& I/ H6 r& `Key Responsibilities:
) ^( E6 X# e6 z• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
5 q9 Q3 R1 [, c+ b; v. i# W! {• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
8 s+ H: u4 b \- D• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately, D0 f. X( Y, m3 B9 R
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
$ b& x/ A# U+ M1 l( F( K8 O• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
+ U9 z% ?2 W5 C: T( z, y$ T' J! s/ ?• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
2 c9 s8 U, b( Y# y: M0 r4 p1 i% b• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker; G: X7 c& u; j4 P/ x2 ]
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
3 q3 j: ]7 A" o, `- j• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events! j9 ?. ]4 }# D0 A# `# f0 p/ @
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean6 n9 N: B, @8 G1 u+ A' ~# ]* a3 j
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters$ {9 Q/ L( _5 M% O# ~+ O
• Maintain front counter service files1 A4 [8 g& }. ~9 i% q! p% }$ x) o
• Perform general office duties as assigned

0 ~. P" X' m( @Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:7 Z j. i- j8 }$ h6 l7 s9 `# R& _5 t
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
1 H3 y) o- l: M% ]• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
' Z% ~* }$ o4 ]9 h• Good English writing and oral communication skills
/ z7 {% s1 k8 \- z5 U) A% ?• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients, U) n' v8 G+ `- g' l2 x5 ^9 C5 [$ X5 n' S
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ' m# L) ^" F8 @/ c9 ^8 q+ c. p
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment q0 e3 J$ Z) ?+ |" S
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism) H! r, e, f0 E- n6 ]# i* e
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision$ p/ G) n6 J/ o6 ]) D8 O" {& l' I) [
