; ?$ q5 I* I4 Y! _• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed# Q+ n! y* V) d
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components' G' I6 f$ f) r* \$ H( ?' L% V( y
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
+ x K% P6 I% i+ ^* w; o7 ?• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams7 n2 i" y- r- H& X- r v
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
& p( R5 G; J9 S% G; M• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment/ F! A* v. q: H
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools. Y% Q7 S% s# Z7 `5 x3 J9 y- S
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting( P; ~) ?# D, R
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
- u9 {/ r" H4 k, g• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
* A5 H! w9 {- `; J• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs/ M. g. P, ^+ A
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation/ {5 W5 L0 l) y' _+ g
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling: |: y% N: ]6 @: O5 V% Z1 @5 h* @# a
Education and Experience Requirements:- j3 D) n$ K" w7 u% J4 ?
• Completion of secondary school is required
9 R" R4 b% T' Z0 j• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

/ G5 [& R3 y& c9 g* {6 F" tA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade + s4 }: l, ^# c* h! s* j5 L6 `8 P* c
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
