8 T9 r9 r% {2 c9 y4 EIn general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
4 H! f: O$ ]& Y+ \# F1 K* z- `4 s-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
3 x6 h! }9 m6 v4 a5 z2 F-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
( y3 S' t' D' g# I, c7 k-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
( S3 J0 [8 C' }7 I3 S9 Mdepartment’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
8 Q$ R: Z" F& }' p9 U-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
6 u+ o5 r3 q. v  y2 g-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
( r5 A. k% m+ T3 o8 f6 b+ t-        Excellent written communication skills;
, V: G# _7 C0 ~9 D% }-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
# @$ }. d# K7 G5 R" ceffective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.
  d: F% V9 V& S+ p" K
(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

# d. I3 ^9 c; s; S/ m4 m$ H& T. v(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).
# _8 ~! o, n; L3 `
8 X& `9 B& V. C* r5 n& \(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

' U: n! K! ?  R# y( j(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

2 B+ M6 e. n. N5 I  H1 F8 ~. y(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
  D) Y) [7 q0 w4 P; D3 b(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET

- Pdflib

# e0 I$ h" R0 |! e! H5 V(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
' Y! q# R4 s1 n- q8 n3 L- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
