Senior C#.net / SQL consultant. 1yr contract starting April 2nd, 2012.

In general, key aspects of the role are:
  H% N+ x' J- ?% _1 q% [4 k) E" C-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
4 p6 [5 ?7 `' S1 B9 O3 K-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
& H: ]+ h: Z* ~; U, S-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
4 z# Z/ Z6 d! Y- Q-        Participate in peer reviews;
& w7 d/ J4 z" J: P/ }-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
9 {$ u. @6 |$ U( D) Q% f-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
. \* n6 A" N% N-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
5 y6 I' E/ M2 M0 \/ B-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
- c* Q$ B' Z, M-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
. q+ t" p/ G: {0 F, z7 n" J3 i-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
, ?: z8 R! G/ X& j9 v8 W4 X8 Qfor incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

2 K8 M9 [+ H: w5 |: g" K! u(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

) i. h+ v7 S3 j1 b# V& `(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

+ J7 M( J+ k" c6 ~' V, G0 E(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

: N& i5 _7 u1 V4 W(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

! U9 l( P; s0 O( P1 nB. Desirable Requirements

; G" ?( c2 ]9 X5 q, R% e7 J(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
8 h6 k/ X! J8 U1 X6 ?- ~+ w- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET

  e, |! `' `! y- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

/ t3 k7 l6 ?7 r; H  M(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
: F/ r: k5 S, K  x+ d) j8 {- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
4 }5 b( C' W7 ~3 B) R- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
