: ?+ V8 o2 z2 i0 IThis exercise is useful when you are feeling stressed out or too serious.

A. Force a laugh.
& Q8 o0 C% z8 u! t) P. z$ G
& }  h2 N3 P  O" J4 z$ I$ H* }$ BB. If this is difficult for you to do, say, "ha ha ha ha ha." Then say, "ho, ho, ho, ho, ho." Then say, "he, he, he, he, he."

C. Repeat the above until you find something to laugh about.  Y& O1 p7 W2 [. W& z6 Z0 f

3 _8 D' M. T& D9 D0 eWhen you feel enthusiasm for a difficult task, you make better decisions, get more done in less time and produce a better result.

A. Write down a task you are avoiding or hate to do.! M8 U# k; I! }+ ]' k' z

; l# _! J7 @* }  tB. Ask yourself, "What about this task is interesting?" Write down the answer.
) K1 e8 c7 d' u. L4 T
( C' O' b# B& A) J& Y( @C. Ask yourself, "What could I be a little excited about regarding this task?" Write down the answer.
, r% K( P8 i* ?. u7 c5 N) D
% Z6 s7 [$ W1 Z, R2 W% O6 `/ O9 eD. Ask yourself, "What could I be enthusiastic about regarding this task?" Write down the answer.$ q7 {% W0 P* A  O. Y

E. Repeat steps B, C and D until you feel enthusiastic about doing the task.

You might be surprised at how quickly this works.

Notice how each activity creates something?

A. Write down three things you can create today.

1. Assertiveness

One of the best ways to improve your daily life is to learn to be assertive. Assertiveness training classes should be available for you to attend in major cities. Often universities or community colleges will offer them. Sometimes you can find them offered by private companies. There are also many books on the subject and you can learn about it on the web. Assertiveness is taking care of your self without hurting others.

You can also apply positive affirmations to your daily life. This is a big help for developing positive self-esteem. That doesn't mean egotism(自我中心), it means seeing that you are a worthy person. Don't forget exercise. Physical exercise is not only good for your body, it can help you feel emotionally better and make it easier for you to focus. Leonard Morehouse developed a program to train the astronauts to keep fit in zero gravity and small confined areas. His book is called Total Fitness in 30 Minutes a Week. (Not a day; a week--three 10 minutes sessions a week) It is available used at bookstores and online.( K! b% A1 ]" r6 x8 w

TM was developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as a way for 'householders' (people who have domestic responsibilities and can't go live in a monastery) to get the benefits of this kind of practice while maintaining their normal lifestyle. Yoga will relax the person and make life easier to deal with." z" ?; C# \3 _

Another popular program is Nichiren Shoshu. This is an ancient denomination of Buddhism which involves chanting which helps a person to get centered and calm. It is easy to do and there may be a group near you that meets regularly. Paste in your search engine to find out more:
