Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary:
% O: H, V1 p8 {, N9 l, PWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. # B7 s; Y; Y$ t) S- h k( X: k

5 t4 n& n8 W1 D( h• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
# E5 A" P9 X q" s$ N• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
2 J2 F# v2 F+ f8 q& S( I• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
" l$ B9 k8 s4 R l9 Z• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
5 c4 k j+ ?9 {1 z @9 u) X• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
5 n" m5 ~% i* f! {$ q# n a" S• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
% @& W: h* W5 {6 |; d• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events, ?; G8 \4 l* u. Z3 U
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
( L7 N% W& O0 j. ~ P# D6 R( j• Keep the reception area tidy and clean, p/ ^0 v% h5 U' J
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:6 l* Y w8 @3 n# S4 S' e6 F+ B
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
. ^" |1 N1 T+ \: l• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
. C* q- b+ X: V5 x4 O% e* ]2 a• Good English writing and oral communication skills4 m4 V; B: x% p- I4 ?4 o: o
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
! R4 u) Z: d# Y" ~• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds5 O3 t" m' x! i$ T j& K& n$ ~4 X5 Y
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment9 x- A$ k( y# Z
• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:
! A- w" l# e& G* b% R8 R• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
5 a! T, x( S, ^• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment5 S- i7 q9 S% W( x* C' p4 W
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism, M2 Y6 b7 D6 a* ~: Z! D8 |
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
