Key Responsibilities
5 Y' K; l( }2 t' I7 A2 h# i- submit information for community news
( ]* T' V9 S" G& L# w- provide volunteers to update membership database/ X3 y8 ?7 l5 @- f. r7 y+ a( ^6 m& o
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
5 U. G1 ?, x9 s- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
6 ?. L1 ~4 {( s- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
3 R6 D: b. n* \/ o- provide volunteers for various programs
" Q0 B; P# I$ g0 I4 g" O- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual7 F' f$ T1 S3 D! h9 ]
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
' K! w' ^7 Q1 Z0 T3 @# k- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities5 o2 M0 v1 \# t2 a g7 B
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ ~- w2 d" q. T L% B- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
Q1 x7 ^& j8 G2 O, o9 V7 x- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
: R; W/ l1 [/ `7 D4 {- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
+ k1 W" z2 i5 ]& A, t! T% F8 v- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required): X7 P1 j9 ]' A5 J
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
5 T9 k9 s% S% E* V: z/ q2 `0 B% n- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 8 W; X, b3 I$ c2 \& ~
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
! ?& k0 p; e F; T- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
) b1 R3 m' A4 |1 ^# G' U- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
* d" L1 h; \3 Z- evaluations
$ A% r; u' E( D8 N- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

( c& j" Y, |1 _; w0 V- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
. B Q$ |1 }3 j" j7 o; y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: _% f( V* |. l" {8 C' b# R& N8 N5 X- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services+ ?0 E4 Z: Z4 K8 \/ V. \' E/ ^+ y
- leadership skills
