- provide volunteers to update membership database
2 M* @+ R1 c; M% \* M- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
) S$ M" T0 ~; t e. G0 s9 L7 C( n- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties% }" M" H I- Z, x: P" F
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
0 O+ h4 T+ L$ o$ \6 c; W% N- provide volunteers for various programs ! v: Z& Z& R( Q3 f) A4 c
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
8 k. S' k( Q( x3 p/ a& F1 U- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
8 O( \3 L1 w# `: I" ?. P- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 Y7 ~" j& g1 K [0 F1 ~
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
- @7 Y3 l/ J* t8 p- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports% y! W! B' e: e. B: I
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
/ k7 t6 h) R, ]. w, V- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed! x3 v* Q/ @) D, @
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
2 P2 o' N. q! b6 y' {: C5 X- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 9 V# q" l. H, Y9 O) _, S w
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
! n3 M4 v& Q2 Z. J$ g- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers * @% N- A0 Y, a+ `7 k" n/ M
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
: I3 q- y- J5 l+ g$ ~. r B- E- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis & Q8 K# t. \! N% K A2 |& F( }% t2 I
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education6 l9 u3 S* d2 J
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; k3 E$ _9 J6 W* s. {% `- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
, m6 e7 v9 Q/ o6 U0 j' _2 j# P- leadership skills, g U) |$ |" N9 F
- management and supervision skills2 v$ s8 u S$ p
