Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

* ?- C7 x G/ i r- submit information for community news
' [ Z$ n0 M# c# U- n4 l- provide volunteers to update membership database
( z5 t1 X2 K u- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
/ T c8 p7 ?/ C- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
& x5 S2 C% \& A+ v- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties- j! f/ l+ c3 @0 q. D$ H- O1 T
- provide volunteers for various programs 3 R. ^ F7 R- a! N2 M
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual/ `+ x6 _/ c) K4 b: w( H y, {) f
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation& d; ?2 ?" N5 Q2 `- k+ D
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities, ~/ @$ a. R/ K" ?; w( \- n
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services- r' @; P+ ^: r% D9 k' f
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
, l, m: e' {# v& E+ j/ M- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
+ @6 f( u# Z+ r! h: B- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
4 b# v- d" M9 s T$ q" i; G- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
2 O/ Y% i& h4 j0 {( P) }% d0 w- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events , ~8 F/ v- k" r4 _ r t7 y8 P$ }
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 0 J* l% D3 u& k9 ?7 q- e P- I% A
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
8 q+ v3 C, K5 p( c8 B: b& A( h$ p- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers & Q7 M! [! G; Q6 ]8 `! S' t
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 8 S# V" h" R# o
- evaluations
0 q" F _/ U* r$ ~/ H8 C8 E- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre8 ^9 {9 y. S k0 M
4 m* n( C; [) ]) b. `( J9 d. AQualifications8 r$ t% T/ ^7 L% X8 ~
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
- c; H3 x1 `' g% q0 n- Y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills! _1 @! ]( C- K- g) I
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services, _) J0 d, a/ @1 D5 E' o
- leadership skills
