Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
: w0 T' u( V# |" b* S9 | Y- submit information for community news 7 z; _# k2 W. o' E3 \+ p+ b8 k
- provide volunteers to update membership database& d6 t' A" c: m4 A# u% \1 B+ x7 L7 p8 m
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
& i2 Y& Z+ _0 D$ h' }& ^- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
; Z. s% ~; N2 q( Y4 ]( n- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties+ o$ O+ A% U- D/ {/ z9 D
- provide volunteers for various programs & Q2 f. y2 S0 p( C
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual6 v( ~: X' j# d: P
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
5 B1 B, I% Y+ p" t( g- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities' f- z& a1 R p t; u* x
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services8 G% F1 \4 ~& G0 K. \
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports! A' m2 z# f6 W+ \& y4 N
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed" |% n6 n4 j9 g5 s8 d, x
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
1 }4 y( Y. w7 o$ M- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)8 v# K8 p+ n9 r
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
" j/ a- X1 {( Q5 P& V1 j- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ' `+ @4 M( c4 d* m) A+ o( r3 u5 T
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
/ T x! E0 x# L1 H% V- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers . G+ y) x, p; Q! E* ~
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 7 V: y- G, i5 F* `
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education: o! J8 @/ U, e& N: r
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills \/ V% k1 W3 D8 h9 [- |# R) S
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services% o/ b7 Z) P. p$ c4 N, W
- leadership skills0 H' u r8 x( I. q/ Z0 V
- management and supervision skills/ i" Y7 \0 K& H3 I) q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
