Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database
, {6 C# D: C6 ] V+ h$ ?% b- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
3 U/ r0 ], F4 A2 n0 A3 {/ ?/ H- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
6 b! M8 ~1 u9 l0 K+ _! W9 A- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
5 G0 {8 e4 O) \ G) {+ y- provide volunteers for various programs
5 ^! o1 A3 C8 R- F- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
7 r8 l9 |2 F% r2 \! q/ d- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
5 X: x9 y9 N, S1 ]- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
8 C# ?4 ~% D# b- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services7 k( Z9 z: k* p3 n, |& G
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports$ }0 c. O4 }2 O; S
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed+ T5 ~9 c- U+ f9 t1 Q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed9 j6 ]) @* d7 R& m* O
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
4 i- X& q; Y! m( B" `- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
6 b7 v3 w, h& S: O- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 4 m. A1 v1 T* ^2 P" A6 Y
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
2 v8 q' `9 ^) i! @8 t1 q3 k$ v0 f- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 4 ?/ A2 [$ C; a5 A" W. }% G
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications2 u% h, a& a1 B; s8 G! I z& R
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education7 {! u+ [4 r5 D5 d( C
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills9 k/ K' V: D8 F8 S: o: N
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services

- management and supervision skills/ L& ]. y" P* j# @3 {8 H
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
