- submit information for community news 5 e9 x) Z- O& c# Z. j
- provide volunteers to update membership database4 V0 z; S4 y2 r' a
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
+ S9 ]* J$ L8 U! i. c3 m- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
/ S0 ]; X( T I. b$ ]1 ]/ v- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties+ r$ ]( X/ h. |
- provide volunteers for various programs ' \+ T6 Y/ s8 w
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual0 g" G3 y9 k1 A3 g; {3 U( N
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
" ~8 W, `$ Q* ]- H4 C6 d- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities/ }% @2 I, e& D5 `
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
0 t/ }) g& F9 h3 P2 ]7 J- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
' ~" m7 ?- O' z$ M; @- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed, n- p2 R7 l8 D% z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed2 M+ _" N/ \ Y- l! j
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)2 B9 ]) k3 S% {8 j" c
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events i5 h! V* D; L# b
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
/ }9 s" x6 f8 N# Y8 f* x) @8 c- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
+ E8 Z; u9 V# Z6 w6 s8 S y: B! }+ K- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 2 y: w, F6 E3 V7 Z3 a
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ! ?9 j* A/ [. X, ]# l

Qualifications2 B; s! ]7 q& K- U3 D3 Z- G
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education9 v1 W) o% B" w" \' h9 O' ]
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 @/ [% N5 Y7 f$ ^
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services$ |! l" q( |4 t' H
- leadership skills
4 y* T/ \0 Z1 }# B- management and supervision skills
k4 Q& j) L/ D* |, p- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills& T; z- e$ G' \6 l2 u
