- n5 A+ M9 ^0 E$ ~& _4 q3 S, {To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)2 C+ r* r5 B8 G& \# ?6 G& p. R/ m

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:9 D: }' u+ l. N& x% n
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;3 M: W: p8 X. W. ?) w
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
( D0 `% ]0 e7 b I! g7 n# Y• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
) O W' Q, @" j- O• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 6 T7 u) Q! X3 @5 a
• Risk Management and succession planning;

3 `8 v, \. g" T* U3 NProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: " ~5 M9 O, p$ X: O/ c5 x, Z6 E7 k
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
/ ~* l4 \$ Z2 S" L" {5 R/ r• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;/ D% w6 ^" \, A) g# q4 v2 v: S
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
1 ^& [) O0 ]# D' U. ?* g8 r• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities. p! a" x3 E( a* ~
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;) K2 P; }! _5 r. c& u" N& P/ @' f% o
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;# t! _" E' G) Z) `' g
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:
: U! E7 s5 H' T N! _8 f4 ~# m• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
* y) i) H( Y6 r- W s• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
3 i% l# L! N; ^• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
6 ^+ M8 U* F2 `* s& d* L, O• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
, N/ T- h. d0 N3 x0 q• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.8 @) J7 _# r% S2 A+ a6 A
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;. l$ A& t$ H7 q7 y. c( K
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;, d6 X5 U6 F: {4 m! w# U/ k% T4 Y0 \8 T
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;% m H7 s& V: j; g% T
• Current valid drivers license;
: s% d0 X% l) ?# V; `! J' N• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;! v# q" h [' }4 s) F' T# v* @8 v
• Conflict resolution skills;

• Committed and passionate about children;
