Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
" z8 `: M" s, ~1 v% z+ TTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:. J% u3 Z% `6 M( z2 s* }. k
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
( X. Z% ?+ N* s: Z5 A; T: R• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children; w1 w0 l# h+ _( ?; c
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;1 ~- ~) q( _6 w; _8 _$ ^
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 2 _' `5 l8 d( @; P
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
, X' L& q! c# T& P( ?% g- |, L• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
( @8 Q6 b- u4 ]% o) f( ]• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
/ H+ } B2 i" V$ M, u' g( w/ `3 g• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;* O5 Q- n7 B' I3 f O
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities" H% j N% f8 Z, n4 {4 u# r+ s
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;/ k* q9 ]2 _ X, I
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;6 J. |& m* e: E
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
7 f! x: l. L+ `7 N• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;5 z7 o, C+ I9 N/ e/ K& R: `9 c* A

Qualifications:
+ L% N9 t2 l) ?1 u: D1 \• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
; C+ V+ k' A* v3 T- l; m, l• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
# u/ z& b, ]4 U9 L% R' K3 s• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; % P! Z1 y# z4 r' M1 D( ^
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;* N1 _0 r; Y4 J
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ f4 }1 ^% l7 i2 t; r1 S• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;4 f+ w8 V# K) h- r2 |6 a( h
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
" {0 S, \' @1 ~• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
6 `) I! t: I4 \ x+ q• Current valid drivers license;
# ^1 o% {2 \5 V, o• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;7 z" ?8 Z9 S1 _
• Conflict resolution skills;
