2 o1 z5 Y, B7 a2 l$ A" ETo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ^; K8 R- s8 w- V- l

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding): e/ m4 k( ~+ C, Z/ a

7 D3 q& P1 G$ `' P, ^0 y• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
% n* d2 J" i9 ^6 d/ e( G0 T4 @• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
) e( O2 Y# `* H) j1 U• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
! d5 W' t) a( E5 f$ z• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 7 k7 B! K8 p! S+ r
• Risk Management and succession planning;. M" ^" i1 @" v* [
. p# O, ?+ M# B) z% V7 G5 mProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
. T7 j' V4 J* J* [# P1 y" d• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
+ F- {& U8 n8 S• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
h4 @% X7 }. v w! P0 T• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
, S2 B3 \* m( [ D5 {• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities5 a1 Y7 M3 L, q. n0 V. r6 r
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;; A9 y2 n6 P: q+ K% Z4 j$ Y
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
7 n9 }1 b/ R9 B0 p/ a• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;' [+ h; ]. `/ l$ W
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

k- I) X$ z/ P3 t @Qualifications:5 n6 I. W) S8 o! K+ G I
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;& ^0 N+ D+ ]* i4 I& |! ^
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector; E" D) K; ~4 }- ~" A2 h
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ! m7 _) x' F2 [! P8 _& v; |
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
% S6 `6 p! B: F* }* w• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
. c% |% D/ p5 H* z" H' X• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
& I7 z8 R& q& y, H$ `3 p• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ Y" s! ?! j% E6 f0 ~! _# i2 J
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
9 O7 F% N; t. e& a• Current valid drivers license;3 d8 F) Q& @: `8 n+ ^, w6 l0 p" C5 @$ N
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;- y- E: H5 x$ }8 W/ Z
• Conflict resolution skills;
