Job Purpose:
/ r$ d" G8 A8 |# d0 v! H4 q3 g. e6 p; n' VTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 3 m) r# s+ Q% t7 {0 J
0 [3 Y8 I% r+ BThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding). v6 u+ R H1 [/ B, g+ ~

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;' k, u) p4 a0 U( ~
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;* } x( F" ~3 P3 d8 p
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;$ a& |6 u. r- k' u
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
3 l$ l* m9 ?- r3 d• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
: u, m' f l" |, h$ r4 [ R$ h* h+ D• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
" I2 ]( S2 |0 d0 l: n( p* r• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;+ ~" W2 v% ~" k5 L$ D3 d
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities$ n3 X2 [4 v4 L! e& K: E
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
+ r/ |( q2 L. w! B$ W! f \• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
/ m6 X6 M! R( B! y K• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
* B3 O7 R g w$ ^0 u• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
( t* e- [$ g( B• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
8 J ^3 y' S7 K3 k• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;* a2 w' a6 }0 R3 ^. `1 B3 Y5 Z
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
" l$ b8 b& A- L* @: T2 M! {• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;9 g3 K, m0 }! J# j# ^
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.$ X7 R& X& y0 L% [5 n9 {; u
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;. Y8 b2 E1 u0 T, F7 q4 H, _
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;

• Current valid drivers license;
\& O+ K1 u K2 L• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
