0 j7 u$ E H0 D; tTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
% T9 D3 j# R/ k, v1 f• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;4 W; Z% [9 e- B& o8 u
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;2 y1 M+ x& T; x% Z* _& Z y
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;( ?# p+ g+ e: O" i
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ) C3 v3 U, `" d E# t: g: r$ u) E
• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;- y; D# b p1 J+ c9 a! h
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
V1 M; A- X1 P0 ]3 I6 q) b/ T• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
' }4 V% O. R* n• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities0 c: v5 `8 |6 h$ j9 C! i/ Y
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;* l/ N: C" v4 {: @# `; u$ P, c6 r; e
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;; m( w6 U. |. p( ~* [6 Z9 X7 X( \
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
7 b: m' ^; z; ] b1 m. ]• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:/ I5 o1 X% e6 G, z) k r
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;+ }/ d' c9 m2 j2 v1 @# B0 J4 \" D
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;+ i0 R0 A) ]+ l0 @( N$ `
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; & y% P5 j6 s# @9 ^; F& z
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
I, B: B: w% d+ p# ~1 l• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.2 T9 j& L* ]( e8 D S1 T9 C. N! G8 A- |
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
: R# x, a7 c# u: H! \• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;" `3 g: F+ w$ d( @( `6 C5 _
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
' Z: a6 y- e' ?/ L• Current valid drivers license;3 M( h7 q" o- d7 `/ q
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;6 r: L5 A( E W7 ?, S9 b* d
• Conflict resolution skills;
