Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

; k2 H! t3 j) _9 |2 A/ QTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

3 y3 a3 p n& U' }; dThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:) e2 \6 Z5 q/ a4 D& J) |
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;/ R0 [) a' E. N7 t
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;+ u6 d B; z$ e9 f, A% H; O
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;3 n, c& M& q) R
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; . g+ ]$ t" T8 s4 @" B7 C
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: , ^& M0 ?, L& w) t3 S& r
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;. z. [8 m( g! m" J7 I4 p. X) X
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
. R/ _" U& J6 Z% R( q' _4 C- o0 |• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
' e z1 y- k" T' z• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities; e) V. m% H! }2 _9 a' ?) z/ \
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
1 x1 S- n9 l( R/ I2 U• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;/ ~1 C$ I$ r, `; @6 {: n/ k
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
+ G" c* g4 y* R) C8 k5 q• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;7 V" N- |0 m3 R3 k# f( r* ]4 T; J
8 O. O/ S+ f* N1 T2 N/ B2 BQualifications:/ D! J1 e5 }$ r+ y- @5 D9 ^- I( G
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
5 p% F) q( [, L' ^* {6 U* l: ?• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
# r7 _% H' i0 m, f9 \& w• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 5 J @+ w8 g8 e6 l( I
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;. I7 b" V6 G8 p+ c% j
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
2 j3 J5 N* w& Z+ w3 _9 U W• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children; m" I6 b6 @% z7 \
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
* M7 G0 R: G3 H6 L• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
) L) q& o5 k( i0 v' i! s8 ?+ r+ @• Current valid drivers license;
9 k$ d# j( z! L• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
% V# ]( M( P! K2 P/ |" L7 x% \• Conflict resolution skills;. W' [$ I- w% S" t4 y
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
( j/ z* `5 f6 ]5 C7 H$ H• Committed and passionate about children;8 b9 O$ K. O7 P+ g' q* w' ~3 b4 \
