hit to go in resident park lot

My car was parked in the parking lot and my neighbor's car crash and go. When I talked to him and he said he didn't crash, even I can see the new crash in his car. I reported to police and the police just recorded the case and let me talk to insurance company.

I just wonder this kind of thing the police do not deal? And how can I do with it?
