Responsibilities and Tasks8 k1 F K* L5 y8 v Q
( X: V- D$ `0 f4 v: x# `- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
/ H6 I, }! I- E/ a& i- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
' `4 z# X. N: G6 Q- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
4 P- b1 @) {0 C- Select type and size of pipe required$ ?! J5 e! a6 J2 i5 ]2 W5 G
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools( |- o) X0 z- u2 J2 ~
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
+ a# ~- L; E" h- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
/ u6 b5 d6 _1 t- Z" y- Test system for leaks using testing equipment7 m& ?- u' f ]4 u1 X
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system4 }! c6 I$ X8 v% s) N* j$ H0 ~( f
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system! G' c, N( {3 H6 |3 _# @
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
' o6 o; z9 z% v' T( X5 w" |- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications
+ ?7 _* Q/ ]$ p# `
# m$ v9 @2 {8 `8 |, s1 L% J- Completion of secondary school0 Q9 k# R* J$ z D
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
0 r# y/ ]* `7 c% ]7 B; U- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Y2 r6 {6 j B/ ?% h+ {& D- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence! q+ i- O6 u: f
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset' l W' q) y( \' l1 L; x! k
- Safety tickets are considered an asset7 v. |: b1 K+ g: I
- Valid drivers’ license is an asset L. c+ s; ?. K5 i
