- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment z! ]8 x' Q$ X: |- X8 I
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements4 y' y) i8 \$ `1 p
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
) B3 L: i s4 o$ D- Select type and size of pipe required7 G- z- |- }! y. E
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools4 O8 l. l) b& O
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
3 n1 C& }, b% A$ Y# _- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
1 S- a& p) ]7 u5 d- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
" r6 ?# H6 k" [) v6 q% K! r5 A' n- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system. T/ B* ~2 Z* Q( ^( k6 H
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications2 U5 L4 C p! `. {
) Y" D6 X: E" C4 Q- Completion of secondary school
- g$ t2 U* s! u9 }- W) N$ m- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation ) N2 X8 ]! k4 L5 I- `
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals l* l2 g+ n h
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

- Safety tickets are considered an asset6 t5 n% R. H. U0 f
