The College's Objects as follows under The Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009:

; a; F* Z0 E: n' w5. To issue certificates of qualification and statements of membership to members of the College and renew, amend, suspend, cancel, revoke or reinstate those certificates and statements as appropriate.

8. To maintain a public register of its members.

10. To determine whether a trade should have compulsory certification status.

11. To receive and investigate complaints against members of the College and to deal with issues of discipline, misconduct, incompetency and incapacity.
