流浪兔：我在温哥华，听说爱明顿教育质量高，想9月往爱城。有哪位朋友知道，到了爱城要交医疗保险费吗？听说有工作的人公司给交，如果是上学没有工作呢？

Who is Eligible?

Residents of Alberta and their dependants are eligible for coverage under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan. Exceptions are noted below. No eligible Alberta resident will be denied coverage.

Residents are defined as 損ersons lawfully entitled to be, or to remain in Canada, who make their home and are ordinarily present in Alberta.?Tourists, transients and visitors are not covered by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan.

When you move to Alberta from another province, there is a short waiting period before you become eligible for coverage under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan

What do I pay for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan coverage?

Albertans enrolled in the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan must pay premiums unless they qualify for full premium assistance.

Premiums are paid directly by the individual or may be submitted by an employer or union as part of a group plan.

There are two regular premium rates:

$44 per month for single coverage
$88 per month for family coverage (two or more persons)

Do I qualify for help with my bill?

Residents may be eligible to have their Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan premiums reduced or eliminated through one of two premium assistance programs.

Premium Subsidy Program

This program may reduce or eliminate basic Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan premiums. Lower-income non-senior registrants are encouraged to apply. Eligibility is based on the previous year's income information, and must be verified with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

You may apply for premium subsidy for the current subsidy period plus up to two previous subsidy periods.

雷锋大哥，英文看得有点模糊，说中文把，埃城的低收入家庭范围是家庭年收入多少以下呢
新移民来了，报以前的年收入没有凭据人家相信吗？因为我知道埃城是落地就要交医疗保险费的

具体情况我也不太清楚，不敢乱说，等我慢慢打听。你是新移民，要住满三个月才能交医疗保险费的。

关于医疗保险的事情，雷锋同志的解释有点问题，我今天咨询了专业人士，是这样的：
1、如果是新移民，那么去办理医疗保险当天生效。----比如自由的心。
2、如果新移民家庭收入较低，从第二年开始减免。
3、如果在别的省已经有了医疗保险，那么要等三个月，从第4个月开始生效。----比如山峰。

可是我在温哥华只买了 3个月的保险啊, 之后的几个月,就没买了......除了对自己的健康没有保障之外, 对其他方面没有别的影响吧?? 好象听说有的学校,申请的时候会要学生的之前的医疗保险???

这里的人都很注重医疗保险的，你怎么不继续买呢？
