买房的免税额度

去年买了房子,听说可以在报税的时候有7500的免税额度,不知道是不是真的。请问可以随便报在夫妻哪边吗?

( y1 m+ L- L3 ~& k4 U- b3 YYou can claim an amount of $5,000 for the purchase of a qualifying home made in 2013, if both of the following apply:
6 b' c' V' P7 U1 {. Z' d! r•you or your spouse or common-law partner acquired a qualifying home; and& K0 w& f( U& v9 w$ m) ~
•you did not live in another home owned by you or your spouse or common-law partner in the year of acquisition or in any of the four preceding years (first-time home buyer).
0 g- \. n/ f# E* xSo the non-refundable tax credit is up to $750.

这样看似乎免税额度是 5000 不是7500?是必须买新房,还是买的二手房也算啊。
