Immigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents. ) Y' r$ v) [4 M1 S

In the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items. * g4 ?; h, h5 ^: Y) G {/ r

“The tools are a symbol of hope for people trying to build new lives in Edmonton,” said Madeline Sarafinchan, president of the Edmonton Real Estate Board. % L8 S2 @: Q/ S4 _; a$ Z

The program was announced by a group called Changing Together… A Centre for Immigrant Women. 9 Z: f$ r' O' n
