Edmonton home builders say they are working non-stop to meet a demand they haven’t seen since the boom of 2005.( r2 G& D5 }+ i9 ^+ V

Builders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013., {" V' |5 A/ g9 ]4 Q- Y6 t6 `

“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.6 A, A. X) P( P& M

The increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
