7 b [3 p/ A* j7 \# ~The item, which turned out to be a DVD player, was reported to police just after 8:30 a.m. and officers swooped in to shut down entrances to the shopping centre.

' n' ]$ H, H' X$ F* _/ Z" C; e- Z$ YPolice evacuated the mall, and a short time later determined the package was merely a DVD player left on a bench outside the SportCheck store.5 ]+ _" }& U. i/ s+ S
& _) j3 u h" W"I think we made a very measured response and dealt with the safely issues appropriately," said Staff Sgt. Steve Jones. "We just contained an area within the mall.", k' d ~6 ^' `' k
