Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
8 I: t' `5 S+ q ?/ S# \( C "I am sorry, what are you sending back?"
& ~# _7 X8 B% ], m$ Z" i4 |He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."
6 t% p. `% b) i( V# M"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"

Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post. : e* m) E4 u7 z/ Y, x
He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. 4 H) L6 a( k. a' `/ }
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
0 j% Q& s. M" d% P* V4 s"No, I am not. I do not do those things."1 t4 u+ s5 V4 @9 Q' ?5 U8 r
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. 1 ?9 k! y/ j% M( c. o. m; G5 {
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:5 R+ l/ x8 _* J4 p' a
"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"4 P) U: ?- V- V) l. s' K
"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:! ^# K4 T% Q( t1 I' s$ c) C
"I do not have an address."

He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."' v- n* z+ r' v6 t
My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. % }+ D' }5 u' Y( X" p, h
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity. * `" ]3 X7 [8 x
