Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.
8 V8 a. ~. B* U- aMcIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
}5 S0 s8 x0 r2 f1 Z X9 J6 bSix-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
) V: N0 f% i6 @* W) u5 r, DChang died of her injuries. Her mother is recovering in hospital.
