Zhixiang Wang, 50, and his wife Xinmei Chen, 49, were arrested at Edmonton Police Service headquarters on February 14.# H. U7 a1 I; @4 f$ U4 k# ~
) o; U; b: V" Q$ hWang is facing charges of sexual contact with a minor, and sexual assault – for reported incidents dating back to between Nov. 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010.# S; ?2 W, P, m: R
; c g' B6 O% f7 x/ {) LChen is facing a charge of unlawful confinement of a child for alleged offences from May 31, 2010 to Jan. 29, 2013.& l V) W5 C/ q7 o5 X: z; @

, _: ^4 U2 v0 ]" J: WThe University of Alberta issued a statement Friday, and confirmed the couple are both employed by the U of A, but are on leave.

“Factors the University would take into account include whether there is a real or perceived connection between the charges and the person’s employment, and whether the person’s presence on campus posed a real or perceived danger to the university or members of its community.”
