Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
# E A% l9 V4 @7 a" W$ u( mweekend hours.1 F* |- W4 h! w1 Z( A) a3 x9 h
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
% O/ V% t3 ~3 `; k0 q. X) Z! W: klab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the A) I8 c c! d3 G$ ~+ M5 x% o
centre.2 C+ h; x- q* d4 b( a, n7 s
These responsibilities include:8 M) V G( O# O( \5 [# i5 B
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.! k5 |. q2 ?! A! p4 D! K9 ~/ i
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
. b: @1 u8 k) d, ?-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
3 G p# E" k2 x J7 Orenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to * \! M4 S& C/ W! \
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
% X0 j: G k5 ~- C$ A-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic & u2 @+ _& o' X' T* c* j2 J6 R
clients’ files etc. , P) w0 P; F$ E2 H g% I& r

Education: : n L3 w3 J6 M
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
2 K+ v( N, @1 M4 ~' C. Weducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination 1 ]& p" \* W i' H7 U* @
of education, training and /or experience. ' \* @# c$ \7 F! e, P- M
Knowledge/Technical competencies:* c8 F" L* H) Y* v
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
( v& }# n2 `* G6 W {' u-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word' N; @" x$ m; ~
and Excel. 3 r% L+ H c: ?5 G7 P/ W$ M5 n6 ^" ^
-Experience using and updating an information database.

Assets:

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
