Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and& q3 Q& Y" n( c5 x
weekend hours.
$ }, J4 r4 G/ }% }6 VYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
2 ]4 ]4 _2 F: ]3 f% U& u" ]lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
& I* G: k5 N! i5 N- Tcentre.- `+ R b. n) H C
These responsibilities include:- u3 S, n2 g' y q- X3 ^) k
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
1 d c# o! h" c- g0 ]' B' c( \-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.& ^( }8 t9 M4 ~; Z$ E
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and- e' M: Y% n) o* j2 w2 ?% R: T
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
* ]" J4 e( Z+ t, gfacilities’ maintenance, etc. : f& \( T) t* }3 h! F
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
) J* T8 h+ O# P y3 Bclients’ files etc. 3 U0 H( `) L- h' u

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
" u7 p8 r9 S3 a" {- Aeducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination " n. ^9 s+ C' p; f" X; `; S( o$ r
of education, training and /or experience. : A+ T7 ]# |4 R6 N$ }
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
' s3 w& s2 y( f/ o$ O" c4 `-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
. d# S+ a+ D5 [& _-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
6 Q5 B( f" Z& T( q+ Oand Excel.
i2 U, G, t: ^( \! k; u, g# O7 f2 d-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
