The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

5 [; H7 x, c  hDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
  S  e  C9 o3 ]3 F9 t+ f" Q0 s4 @technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
, b; y% P+ `# V  s* Cfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
& y% ~6 F. Y2 R" q, E0 jcompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
) }4 k9 y. s7 c' Q6 c- y5 t3 Danalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
1 |( C( B! u0 T: T2 G& Q/ ]separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
/ b. r7 g6 ]% y- Y+ R  Q5 I& }( u; AThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
+ ]* s% H8 c/ L& cand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
