currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
, h# v4 h8 v( }' @6 lthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
# a1 u- J% K3 c% b; n/ fschool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
  l% Q2 x7 s2 S, d2 |CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
6 i* L  A; h, L9 Petc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
4 R8 Z6 o; A+ l; k& E% \' Mtheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
: x/ t: Z- Z' W0 K8 X  f: Mtheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
1 t: v; I$ {, y+ J  e9 f- Fassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
" R/ B' ?" R! b# H( y! }% Toutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
/ c8 X! W8 k. ~+ iexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
$ f$ h$ L# [) S1 g1 A; x( @; cpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
, J$ F( _0 O1 _; XCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
$ |$ X% k/ n# S% P3 ]' U6 dskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
