The data from MLS and Comfree show supplier more than demand, i am not sure if more pepole buying new homes now.

" j% j2 _/ a. s) p: ~The MLS and Comfree data doesn't show "supply is more than demand" at all, it just tells how many houses were sold to people that decide to buy a house+like the house+can afford the house. Based on the sale percentage, you can tell how hot the market is and 'demand >> supply' will last for a long time. ( `6 e8 `# \; q0 j5 C" ]

You can find housing starts data from this site: http://cansim2.statcan.ca/cgi-wi ... amp;ArrayId=0270042 but you have to pay for the data. The other one is http://www.statcan.ca/Daily/English/070404/d070404a.htm, based on the amount of permits, you can kind of caculate how many new building permits were issued thus how many new houses start to build. |
