SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
3 O' {& a( u' O& h5 I2 ]Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
9 y2 R, u( M# E/ e& yBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
" c6 q" v4 d) X7 u3 L5 t( O# ]carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
+ j! m; n+ u% Y/ ~7 b. L/ F5 C1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
$ l$ Z2 v( h6 l- O% g) `6 P5 j
* Y* q& A9 u8 D/ t6 j9 E3 |! m; }/ ?2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
! e% J3 _7 }' @( `3 Thigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
* D+ v; \! D, A) maccordance with Students' Union policies.
6 k4 Q$ V2 {0 p+ P" k% r/ a+ p( B
3 {. P& a* Z$ G1 U3 _9 L3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
9 ^& O, W2 ~# L+ A, Y5 {total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

8 L! g0 A: W, v' S8 L  i, h4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
- x8 J+ ]+ o, A3 c! z( Uincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
' S8 X8 [8 d* w! I$ s. _and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

% {& u  u6 Z* ~5 r8 J1 J5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
' j" A' w+ l/ A2 D4 b, Eaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
1 M& U% G; {' [. Bintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
) p1 O4 y0 p3 ^( \+ fManager.


2 U& m( a# {( u  P1 \QUALIFICATIONS;
4 ]5 v" f+ D5 r" U1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
* G" u5 f6 Z& ]3 L, G
" w/ J4 Z/ O8 B& K5 \9 \" |5 `& Y% g- @+ K2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
7 l5 E2 A) b3 S% s' Eoperation.
: B) F( d; ~. ~8 M$ B
6 K; C6 M4 U, y1 O3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
% U0 K# b" Z7 [; A! gcard transactions.

& e9 b: \: i' p' K* j  }) ]. r5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
0 _0 m" \" a  O2 P2 R' V1 Y  Dprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.
