11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
% w1 j4 E" X: f# M  H, P1 m1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

" y8 n- V% A3 d7 B2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
: S$ z; Z" ]$ U' }high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
# n" ]% Y0 b6 a# o6 waccordance with Students' Union policies.
5 Q3 Y5 \9 I8 d8 h! H/ @: \) O& s. b( Q
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
: l/ [& T% \# P* W% s! `
% ]$ }  Y1 ~5 C1 p4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
0 n8 N* W1 r' vand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
) c. ?7 m+ l( j& i) ?intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
; e2 C5 e: D. U! u, pManager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
: P& n* K8 T, V8 h1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
0 R0 L: M' W4 j$ Tpolicy.
$ z$ g: Y/ L( }% b2 A* {" G
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.
$ m5 o. H, S6 C$ v- E- r
2 C" w% ^4 `5 c5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
) r( O( T/ Z/ z1 Ipurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
