BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving4 d4 z. B. g7 J% H* o

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

' r0 [5 a( J" t7 QJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  ( m$ v$ A; [3 D, ~
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  1 H* w9 ]9 o2 ^4 @8 A
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
9 I" ~- [- d8 Q* t# B. jcleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:4 j7 A* `& b/ n
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  ) R$ O1 X$ @: r2 }. _! P* w
beverage items.

& v6 H& ]# y+ y; j! m2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
& n) G+ I2 y& b  W7 P/ Ybar and debit floats./ k& ~- s  F+ \' n: h( O, g
( I$ I1 }6 A/ {! }8 X; h
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  4 ^' }3 }" w; u2 g& |- i5 q
each shift, and upon closing.* e5 D. ?& k) M1 m# a1 I

2 t  X6 I. b, N1 x* k4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular    Q4 g, n% v' z
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  * G$ x* v5 e1 I" e
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  3 U0 N1 k* X: Q/ c4 @; P
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
6 A5 x# l* w; H6 mproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

! A* K: c$ Q0 G9 ?4 _5 [# z6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  + H- A7 `7 F2 c# M
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
; j- ^1 I, @& j, r+ k1 q3 mhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
& ]0 ?  E3 u# G4 B5 Gaccordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
$ Y. \5 H1 S( ahigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.

Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.* c6 z8 Y- x1 P5 R) a9 |7 k

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
+ O& I* S. {- f) {0 }Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

1 E  W; ]( x, X' C( y" nQUALIFICATIONS:
+ F' O8 L+ w0 S3 f5 g: `1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.0 U* C  ~+ h7 q$ p' }
$ b- B+ s- g) G& p7 O
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  ; J% `. a: l: H8 _! I7 `! E, U. W: U
operation.
' B& G0 M, N. x" S  b7 w
3 y" O0 k) R- U+ [6 ]' k5 T3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  ( B) Z$ o3 _9 {4 o
accordance with Students' Union policy.
0 Z3 z. X1 h+ W# m% h9 r& m1 `  d5 |  T* M4 K6 u$ C
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.& b. f" i+ c8 p, N
* v; C/ X; e. [$ ?
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
6 C" }7 [3 \* A) t1 R' `Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
; ~" d+ Z3 `, j1 B6 S" V& Cattitude.) d; y, b4 [  T8 X1 v  C9 O
