BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
9 e7 t0 B% }. C+ }Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  , {) h; p. Y, P3 K5 B% y8 v3 U
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  & i# D$ {/ u) y* [: n7 L/ z, |
cleanliness and order in the bar." n8 s; f; u! k9 O: R

' T- w  w3 N5 mDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:4 \$ \  l. A# ~* F
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  & c3 s. W( F  X  S; c0 x4 L
beverage items.
. g/ Q! c% N1 Y) c6 F0 _: c) Q
  p; b$ l9 `& K2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
' S: q/ m: Z& x7 J) m4 abar and debit floats.
. |5 [: O& E( H/ m+ Q- d+ @, X$ i
$ K2 `( ?2 a! u3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
' x) }2 l8 l8 T* i& ]) {$ }$ f4 W) Ieach shift, and upon closing.
2 I* N5 B  \% @. J/ t" @7 f9 `3 v& k, a3 v# d! ]0 j1 Y7 V( ]( C
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  " r: p/ k2 |$ \0 }# N4 D3 X
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
  l  z' z9 O$ c- v& @seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.1 h/ S; l7 T! q& U

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
. x& j( {3 n* q5 ?9 gstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
1 z- `: G. w7 H/ bproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

, W( }4 k6 Z4 P* ~- J6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  " ^$ e8 k6 ], R; `4 _
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
% a7 r4 M4 `) N% l# \5 o0 ghigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  : @4 A" \+ I7 r6 ^8 M# P9 }
accordance with Students' Union policies.
+ d  t9 }3 p- i3 b$ I; M) M' u, P1 R/ T9 m) @& l
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
! f' L+ }) ^# h6 E0 chigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
0 X" B( i* d2 p& G# Q0 t7 ~. _ To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
  n, n$ E$ K" |- r  fAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.) n+ ~% l$ z- {0 y9 t2 `

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
7 a+ i3 f# I; U' k6 s; `3 jSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:4 A1 O% q% x, f+ U* w8 ^
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
! Y. q3 X! I8 n+ \" z4 y
% N9 k, `. G9 O; i9 X  A( m' A2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  6 g0 ~: f; ^; o; _5 w2 f
operation.& u) k! L6 f; x1 j. b  L
6 K2 s( h) g& u& B8 _3 O# `; |- i
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  ! r. F9 ?% X" b" `2 M
accordance with Students' Union policy.

; T9 @+ G) X: f( Q4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.; \  s% F0 k6 e* d7 F2 E% l

) J( b: C1 ?: c" J5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  ' l  S$ L0 L1 k* ~& m" r
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  # v- I9 d" O2 K. c" n
