  G; D9 T4 C5 M( D; F& N" n7 kBARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  0 N1 P9 A/ C$ V" L3 W" w/ w) {& z
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  7 Z+ i. ]' |7 Q" ~% _; x* ~  C7 y
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  7 C; x$ m, p' N/ F- q
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  - b6 c( d7 n; e9 J
cleanliness and order in the bar.
) b9 _4 [4 [5 J' f
2 L1 ]- Y' }2 b* G8 U8 c0 U4 W8 ^DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:7 U0 }* @" }4 Y% d
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
9 J3 W- F% e( j/ Ebeverage items.' d+ R# \6 c2 K0 c) N; l
, f! |8 N4 Q/ a6 _: _
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
& O' A. q/ J: V# C9 l$ d0 kbar and debit floats.
5 j" U8 [$ A  T7 w9 g7 S5 E( F9 v2 N$ `$ U
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  + ^6 w! Q5 X6 w6 B
each shift, and upon closing.

& D" X; k9 s# G8 g; w, m$ u4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  8 h0 D' r) T4 D! p/ S; v
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
  T4 d: ~7 j3 Q  cseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.( q" c1 ~: T0 a
! ~/ q( q& ^) }. ~: t# \. s
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
, @/ H' ]9 b& Z+ sstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  1 P+ W( U4 k% A% W2 N* |
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.. g) E# @0 X/ j0 [+ @8 U
* L( Z. j9 r9 n, W2 A
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  * |; E) l6 N, v" a1 o6 V+ y
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
( W- ~$ J" i& H, m" `# u0 `high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  . ]' S: @0 W5 U& L: _4 h# r2 P; o
accordance with Students' Union policies.

9 w& R9 i* c, c/ J$ ]. s7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  ! @: r! E+ `8 `7 L
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.. z/ m- ?1 y$ k/ f' Y6 v; @' b
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  * i1 Y' Y4 r. H
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

1 q) b) G; Q& k( w" o9 w9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  3 `2 n5 A0 [2 q/ l* d
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.  x0 ]  Q+ G9 d

0 w+ n* F1 c$ z/ k! uQUALIFICATIONS:
, p/ V5 @. g! c) p' {% G8 @! o1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.$ r+ S3 V! r8 N- E9 B, i1 J

( J! ^7 ]( Z, C+ @! n- j+ S2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
" D/ `7 _2 `7 g9 \' N1 E/ |operation.
3 G" `3 A* q2 l2 `2 K! s, ]
) f* e' b. B# p8 S: G$ f3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
* e9 j$ D" C! I7 f$ _* {- Q) n+ `accordance with Students' Union policy.$ q7 q! s6 b! E" H

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.% }8 F2 u; t0 I, o& h

! Z# g- I! K: n# Q- H5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
# _2 W) S* _3 e' [4 N$ MUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic
