ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

NThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

* u6 T" h% s; a$ O/ h- |Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

# i1 Y/ a7 I" o1 c/ S) h$ m1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
* j9 c( g7 Y: d8 n* l2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
. a9 F2 ~- n: \0 J, M3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
( ?3 K/ y2 }' T/ G5 `1 ]4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
