The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

8 a1 x" y! C, Vages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more

) a/ J) x* E) XPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
) m' ]2 a( j- y/ j$ L& [and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
/ l# u7 C) ~% L2 ]% O" Enon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
3 P" H" G% Y* @0 d# nworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
8 E! x2 I0 i# r2 U4 H2 V. ppolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
4 G0 m+ e+ `( u3 _% d8 M3 iaffairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
" u$ S- ~6 ?1 k4 D1 ofor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

" R6 |1 z7 e9 @& `0 t, j0 bPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
6 f+ V* m" s$ ]2 k$ ^as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
- P: C5 Q2 I6 B" x2 }3 Y# Cservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
" D2 H- J' n5 z' W" S, U& Bthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

& W/ H7 n. ?  S) S! U5 [4 y4 EIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
! e; N6 i" F) m% {% Wdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

( ?8 J6 }- \7 ~6 e: B: W  e/ s* R8 H1 IKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
% Q& `- \6 ?$ g/ c  V  dorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

4 ~0 r) b& {9 n- R' DPLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing

with youth.
